Apparently, she and her hubby needed a place to stay while they renovated their home. Of course, this surprised her as they had not been in contact for years.
Nevertheless, she graciously accepted and move in they did. Shortly after their arrival, Emily requested an audience and asked if her sister could leave the house to herself and her husband on Christmas Day and Christmas Eve.

When the woman asked her sister where she would go should she agree, her sibling urged her to get a room at a motel since it was something she could handle without dying.

Apparently, Emily and her husband have holiday traditions, and they wanted to spend the festivities together. Knowing this, they had put their home up for renovation, and the woman wondered why they would do such a thing.
The woman decided she could not put her life on hold for them and instead asked her to leave the house with her husband. She did this knowing they would not go homeless, and she was right.

Their parents took the couple in. However, they did not agree with her sending them packing after all the trouble they went through with the renovation.
In the comments section, users could scarcely believe her family blamed her for displacing the "ungrateful" couple. They all assured her she was right to have done what she did, and they encouraged her to stand her ground.
