The professional wakeboarder shared a picture of him and his pregnant wife in their Australia Zoo uniform. Irwin held up her uniform with Powell's name embroidered in it as they both smiled at the camera.
The Instagram post garnered over a thousand likes and many comments from well-wishers who had many positive things to say about the young couple and their unborn child.
Irwin had earlier updated her Instagram page with a post in tribute to her parents, mother Terri Irwin, and late father, Steve Irwin. The Instagram post was a remake of her parents' maternity picture while expecting her younger brother Robert who is now 17.
In August 2020, Irwin announced that she was expecting a baby with Powell. The news came in just months after they got married in March 2020. The couple posted a picture from Australia Zoo with a tiny uniform for their soon-to-be-born daughter.
Irwin said the zoo had to shut its gates to visitors for the first time.
Irwin reflected on her 2020 experience in an Instagram post detailing significant events that had happened in her life, from the Australian bushfires to the novel coronavirus pandemic.
She recounted the Australian bushfires, an event that ravaged the country early in the year, destroying lives and properties. Irwin recalled how she helped displaced animals during the incident.
She mentioned that their Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital had treated over 100,000 animals since it opened. It is impossible to talk about 2020 without mentioning the Coronavirus pandemic, which led to a global lockdown that affected different businesses, including the Australia Zoo.
Irwin said the zoo had to shut its gates to visitors for the first time. The closure lasted for 78 days. The zookeeper spoke about her private marriage in the zoo and the filming of their reality show scheduled to air this year on Animal Planet.
Irwin also expressed her hopes that 2021 would bring some peace and advised that people be kind to one another while finding happiness even in the smallest of things. The 22-year-old also had some positive things to say about her husband, Powell.
Irwin wrote that she had fallen in love with his kind heart seven years ago and was eager to see him become an amazing father. They expect their bundle of joy sometime this year and are excited about the next phase in their lives.
