"Saved by the Bell" stars are offering prayer and thoughts to the castmate Dustin Diamond after it was disclosed that he was diagnosed with cancer. The tragic news was announced on Facebook by his team.

Although the statement didn't specify what type of cancer Diamond had, it asked fans to send their prayers and positivity while giving the actor privacy. Shortly after the announcement, his co-stars took to social media to show their unwavering support.

Mario Lopez shared a collage of a throwback photo of him and Diamond in the NBC sitcom alongside a recent picture of them in a warm embrace while hanging out. In the accompanying caption, Lopez wrote:

"I connected with Dustin earlier this evening, and although the news of his diagnosis is heartbreaking, we remain positive that he'll overcome this."

He concluded, saying a prayer for Diamond and his family, wishing him a speedy recovery. Tiffany Thiessen shared a photo of the 44-year-old smiling on her Instagram story and wrote that she was thinking of him.

Before the announcement, it was reported that Diamond was in a hospital in Florida after experiencing unease.

Actress Lark Voorhies who starred as Lisa Marie Turtle uploaded a throwback photo of her Diamond in a warm embrace as teenagers. She donned a cute black dress while the actor looked casual in an oversized shirt.

Voorhies described Diamond as one of her closest friends and sent him some love and best wishes. She noted that those in their immediate circle know Diamond for being a great person, and they are all praying for his recovery.

Elizabeth Berkley uploaded a throwback photo of herself, Voorhies, and Diamond and wrote that she was sending him all healing. Before the announcement, it was reported that Diamond was in a hospital in Florida after experiencing unease.

At the time, it wasn't sure what he was dealing with. Now, according to a source who spoke to US weekly, Diamond's prognosis is believed to be stage IV. The cancer is reportedly severe, but the actor is already undergoing treatments.

A day after his team's update, another insider revealed that the "Weakest Link" star is in a lot of pain while receiving help. The source noted that things aren't good for the "Saved by the Bell" alum, but he remains in good spirits.

Diamond rose to fame for his role as Samuel "Screech" Powers in the sitcom, which ran from 1989 to 1993. He starred in several spin-offs along the yeats but was exempted from the recent reboot, which premiered in November
