'Fox News' Anchor Bret Baier Reveals Son Paul, 13, Could Have Died during Open-Heart Surgery
Fox News anchor Bret Baier whose 13-year-old son recently went through open-heart surgery, revealed that his son could have easily not survived the procedure.
Fox News anchor Bret Baier is known for his boldness and eloquence, but recently he had his fingers crossed as he hoped that his son would make it through his health concerns.
Baier's 13-year-old son Paul recently had to undergo a fourth open-heart surgery, and his dad is grateful for the speedy recovery he has experienced since the 10 hours of surgery.

During a recent interview, the television personality revealed that he hopes the last surgery would be the biggest and the most important one needed to carry Paul through.
The 13-year-old's recent surgery was the most complicated he had. His parents are glad that he would not need another surgery until he is in his mid-20s, and even that will be minor.
Baier revealed that during the procedure, Paul's connector exploded, leaving everywhere soiled with his blood. At that point, his parents feared for the worse.
The Fox News anchor revealed that his son could have not made it out of surgery because of how excruciating and heavy it was. But despite the rigor of the process, the renowned journalist is glad to have his son safe.
For Baier, nothing beats watching his little boys grow up to be champions in their own fields.
Paul reportedly had his first procedure as a newborn, and then he had a series of others as a ten months old and a six-year-old. When he was born, a nurse discovered that he was turning pale, and a series of tests showed that it was a complex heart problem.
Doctors informed his parents that he would need immediate surgery or he would not make it. It was revealed that his heart was not pumping the right way. Baier said the report of his son's health left him with a soft feeling.
He felt that all the hopes and plans he had for his son would be unable to go through. Although he might not be a super bowl champion like his parents hoped, Paul is a healthy kid who still engages in standard kid stuff.
His favorite sport is golf, which he can not wait to get back to as soon as he recovers. The 13-year-old is said to have a positive attitude, and despite the occasional illness he suffers, he is happy to have a supportive family around.
Paul's father, Baier, was caught up with covering the elections and thinking of his son's health. At one point, he tested positive for COVID-19. Baier revealed that he got worried about infecting those he loved.
His fatherhood experience and the journey is reportedly the inspiration behind his 2014 book, "Special Heart: A Journey of Faith, Hope, Courage, and Love." For Baier, nothing beats watching his little boys grow up to be champions in their own fields.
