More details of Dustin Diamond’s cancer battle has been revealed by his team. In an interview with TMZ, the actor’s representative disclosed that the “Saved by the Bell” star was diagnosed with stage IV small cell carcinoma.

He is currently gearing up for the second round alongside physical therapy. However, the team revealed that the star is in good spirits trying hard to fight the cancer. He is looking forward to recovery and spending time with his girlfriend.
Last week Thursday, Diamond’s team confirmed that he was diagnosed with cancer via a statement on social media. Two days before the announcement, it was reported that the actor was hospitalized in Florida.

The former child actor was taken to hospital after experiencing intense body pains and unease. At the time, a rep revealed that the symptoms were severe, and the likely diagnosis was cancer as it runs in his family.
The actor, however, remains brave, doing all he can to put up a fight.
Diamond’s mother died from breast cancer. According to a source who spoke to US Weekly, the “Hamlet A.D.D” star’s health status isn’t looking good as he is going through a lot of pain. The insider told the publication:
“It’s not good at all. He’s going to be in the hospital for a while. He’s getting through his treatments now. It’s tough; it’s very hard.”
The source noted that there had been many ups and downs as Diamond feels good one minute and the next experiences many difficulties. The actor, however, remains brave, doing all he can to put up a fight.
He also has the help of his family, who has shown their unwavering support from the beginning. Although they can’t visit him at the hospital due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, they make sure to call him every day.
His girlfriend, in particular, is cheering him on daily. Only a handful of friends and family know about his condition, but they have no assurance when he would be certified to leave the hospital. Diamond rose to fame for his role in the 1990’s sitcom.
He played the role of Samuel “Screech” Powers in all four seasons of the sitcom and other spin-offs that have occurred over the years. However, he was exempted from the show’s recent reboot, which premiered in November 2020 on Peacock.
