'Saved by the Bell' Star Dustin Diamond's Diagnosis Revealed — inside His Battle with Cancer
“Saved by the Bell” star Dustin Diamond’s cancer diagnosis has been revealed. The actor has reportedly completed his first stage of chemotherapy and is trying to battle the disease.
More details of Dustin Diamond’s cancer battle has been revealed by his team. In an interview with TMZ, the actor’s representative disclosed that the “Saved by the Bell” star was diagnosed with stage IV small cell carcinoma.
The condition is an advanced form of lung cancer, but in Diamond’s case, it started spreading from somewhere else in his body and got metastasized in his lungs. The 44-year-old has reportedly completed his first round of chemotherapy.
He is currently gearing up for the second round alongside physical therapy. However, the team revealed that the star is in good spirits trying hard to fight the cancer. He is looking forward to recovery and spending time with his girlfriend.
Last week Thursday, Diamond’s team confirmed that he was diagnosed with cancer via a statement on social media. Two days before the announcement, it was reported that the actor was hospitalized in Florida.
The former child actor was taken to hospital after experiencing intense body pains and unease. At the time, a rep revealed that the symptoms were severe, and the likely diagnosis was cancer as it runs in his family.
The actor, however, remains brave, doing all he can to put up a fight.

He played the role of Samuel “Screech” Powers in all four seasons of the sitcom and other spin-offs that have occurred over the years. However, he was exempted from the show’s recent reboot, which premiered in November 2020 on Peacock.
