The rapper, who performed under the name Kardone, had a gunshot wound when the police found him at The Towers apartments at 16735 La Cantera Parkway. He was signed to The Orchard.
After the body was found, a search warrant was issued for a woman named Sasha Skare in connection with the shooting of the 34-year-old rapper, according to the San Antonio Express News.
Skare is also involved in the San Antonio music scene. In April 2020, she released a single produced by DeuRone. Her court records reveal a history of criminal charges that date back to 2019.
The reason for DeuRone's murder remains a mystery.
Skare was charged with a first-degree felony after a shooting that left one man dead and another one seriously injured. According to the San Antonio Express News, she and her boyfriend Andrew Bass were involved in the shooting.
Skare also claimed she and her boyfriend met a man at a North Austin apartment to buy something when things took a violent turn.
DeuRone released his most recent single, "Magic," in 2020. He released his last album, "Trunk Bag," in 2016. According to his friend Brian Mitchell, the rapper was humble and quiet despite his connection to Beyoncé.
Mitchell added that DeuRone would not even bring up the fact that he had a connection to Beyoncé. He described him as a person who shone brighter than most people.
Mitchell said they mentioned DeuRone's connection to Beyoncé in his bios because it was just worthy of putting in there, but he never liked talking about it. Beyoncé has not addressed his death on social media yet.
The reason for DeuRone's murder remains a mystery. His family and wife are having a hard time dealing with the tragedy. Skare remains off the radar in the wake of the rapper's death.
