Blake Lively Speaks Candidly about Her Body Insecurities Following the Birth of Her Third Child
Actress and mother of three, Blake Lively, recently opened up about how she felt about her body after giving birth to her last child. In her social media post, she called out retail shops to do their part.
Over the weekend, Blake Lively, 33, took to her Instagram Story to share about her past body insecurities. In 2019, the actress gave birth to her third child in the summer.
Besides the lastborn daughter, she and Ryan Reynolds are also parents to two more daughters James, 6, and Inez, 4. Lively’s friend, Taylor Swift, revealed the lastborn child’s name in her 2020 song “Betty.”

The “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” actress reflected on how she’d gone out of her way to make an outfit for a live appearance. At the time, January 2020, she featured on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
She confessed to wearing a black @lanvinofficial shirt and matching dress from @netaporter to make her look in her post. She included a photo of her on Jimmy Fallon’s set to emphasize her point.
The “Gossip Girl” star explained why she had to mix and match clothing items to make an outfit because retailers didn’t have any samples that fit her after giving birth. She also noted:
“And so many clothes from stores didn’t fit either. So. Many.”
Lively shared how retailers weren’t sending a good message to women when brands didn’t offer clothes women could fit into. She described the snub from brands as “alienating and confusing.”
The “A Simple Favor” actress admitted that she’d wished she had been as confident as she was now back then. She shared how she now acknowledged that her body was actually not something to be ashamed of.
The star celebrated how her body had given her a baby and produced that same child’s whole food supply. She called the experience of pregnancy and giving birth a miracle.
However, she explained that initially, she’d felt insecure after giving birth instead of feeling proud. All her doubts were brought on by the simple fact that she didn’t fit into clothes after having her child.
Looking back at her struggles, Lively noted how silly the whole thing had been. She ended her message by acknowledging influencer Katie Sturino and other people for holding fashion brands accountable.
Blake Lively felt she was reminded that everyone could ask the brands they love to do better.
She revealed how Sturino’s work helped women not feel alone and noted how the influencer progressed meaningfully in her efforts. The actress shared how Sturino reminded her of something important.

The star felt she was reminded that everyone could ask the brands they love to do better. Besides being an influencer, Sturino is also the founder of Megababe, a brand that makes products that offer women care.
Lively and “Deadpool” star Reynolds, 44, got married in September 2012. The pair is well-known for how they tease and joke with each other on social media posts, especially on special days like birthdays.
