First-Time Dad Garrett Hedlund Gushes over Baby Son Rhodes with Emma Roberts

The first-time dad, Garrett Hedlund, gushed over his son, Rhodes, who he shares with Emma Roberts during an interview.

During a virtual interview with Extra, Garrett Hedlund, a first-time father to his and Emma Roberts son, Rhodes, gushed about his new baby.

Hedlund and his costar, Evan Ross, appeared in a virtual interview to discuss their new movie, "The United States Vs. Billie Holiday."

The two dads both had a newborn born at around the same time. The host, Cheslie Kryst, took a moment to discussed fatherhood with the two actors.

Hedlund gushed about his son and said that he was an angel and a special person. He expressed his love for his son when asked how his life had changed after becoming a father. He said:

“Finding room in my heart to love ya know someone with just, the most amazing amount of love and compassion… he’s an angel, he’s really a special person.”

Ross and Ashlee Simpson welcomed their son, Ziggy Blue, who is the actor's second child. Ross shared that he and Hedlund had sent each other photos when the babies were being delivered.

The two dad actors were asked if they had been swapping dad stories, now that they were both dealing with a little one at home. Ross said, "oh ya."

Their relationship had started casual but quickly became serious when they announced they were expecting in August.

The two are set to star in "The United States Vs. Billie Holiday," which shows the story of Billie Holiday's arrest for possession. Hedlund plays the head of the Federal Bureau of Narcotics Harry Anslinger, who targeted her.

Ross plays the African American agent, Sam Williams, who Aslinger hired to arrest Holiday. Hedlund shared his opinion on why Aslinger had targeted her and said:

"She represented everything that he despised… He was obsessed with arresting her because he wanted to make an example out of her.”

Hedlund and Roberts welcomed their first child in January 2021 as Roberts shared an adorable photo of them together on her Instagram.

The new parents were first linked together in 2019 after Roberts split with her fiancee and costar, Evan Peters. Hedlund was spotted with her through the end of 2019 and the beginning of 2020.

Their relationship had started casual but quickly became serious when they announced they were expecting in August. Roberts shared a photo of her growing belly while seated next to Hedlund.

A source shared to Us Magazine that the pregnancy had forced Hedlund to be responsible, which he saw as a blessing. He now seems very in love with his son.
