DWTS Pro Gleb Savchenko Says He Would like to See the Show Include Same-Sex Partners
"DWTS," Pro Gleb Savchenko says he would be thrilled to see the show incorporate same-sex dance partners. Savchenko and his girlfriend, Cassie Scerbo, have taken a relationship break to prioritize his divorce.
Choreographer Gleb Savchenko of "DWTS" fame advocates for the dance competition to consider including same-sex dance partners in the future. Savchenko, 37, said this seems like a sensible progression for the show.
The Pro shared how excited he had been when Johnny Weir joined the show, even suggesting the two of them be partnered. However, his suggestion never came to fruition.

Savchenko added how other franchises had already gotten a head start in this regard, citing how the Australian version did so with Courtney Act, as did the UK version with Nicola Adams. The show is yet to have its say on Savchennko's comments.
The heartthrob explained that pairing two men together and having them follow the same choreography can look amazing and doesn't have to take away from the obvious male/female dynamic in dance, as he said:
"I would love to do it, but it would have to be with the right partner.”
An insider revealed that Savchenko and his girlfriend, Scerbo spent some time apart from each other over the holiday season to allow Savchenko to focus on his divorce from his wife of 14 years, Elena Samodanova.
Last December, the new couple was linked to each other, following Samodanova filing for divorce just a month earlier. The insider revealed that although the pair were not splitting up, they were spending some time apart.
"Rumors were rife that Savchenko had been pursuing his dance partner, Chrishell Stause."

Samodanova revealed to "People" that she had been driven to file for divorce amongst ongoing cheating on her husband's part. The pair share two daughters, Olivia, 10, and Zlata, 3.
While opting to handle his family affairs privately, Savchenko has spoken publicly about his hopes to return to the new season of DWTS. He's also got his sights set on future prospects, adding:
"2021 has started off great, and I’m looking forward to new opportunities and new projects.”
Speaking of DWTS, star of "Vanderpump Rules," Lisa Vanderpump described her time spent partnered with Savchenko in season 13 of the hit series as exciting. Vanderpump, 60, spoke of having an emotional affair with the pro.
Vanderpump explained that when one had been with the same partner for as long as she had, being introduced to a dance partner where you're required to get so intimate with him was very thrilling. She called the pro charming and was fond of him.
During the previous season of DWTS, rumors were rife that Savchenko had been pursuing his dance partner, Chrishell Stause, of "Selling Sunset" fame. This is what reportedly led to Samodanova filing for divorce.
Savchenko denied the allegations and was spotted on a trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, earlier this month, with his girlfriend during what appeared to be a couples trip with Stause, and her boyfriend, fellow DWTS pro, Keo Motsepe.
