FAMILY OF FIVE
Hamilton and her husband officially have a family of five, with their youngest son Micah joining them on love's biggest day of the year. Dirks took to YouTube to share the news of Micah's arrival, saying:
"It’s a boy! His name is Micah. Mama is happy and healthy. We are just so thankful that everything went really smooth!"
Micah will celebrate his birthday in conjunction with the grand gestures and red hearts every year, but Dirks is evidently pleased with his Valentine's gift this year.
HUBBY CAM
The shark attack survivor's husband picked up the camera to give fans an update whilst the new mom and baby were resting. Dirks also showed the snacks that he was preparing for his wife whilst she was sleeping.
Viewers weren't given a sneak peek of Hamilton and Micah, but Dirks was sure to let everyone know that they were doing well and that their other two sons were elated to welcome their mom and new baby brother home.
KEEPING FANS UPDATED
The surfer announced that she was expecting her third child in October last year and let fans on her pregnancy journey on her social media platforms.
Dirks and Hamilton decided to keep the gender a surprise and waited until the baby was born to find out that they would be three boys' parents. Hamilton elaborated on their decision, saying:
“It’s one of life’s greatest surprises and we don’t want to spoil it!!!”
CHILDREN AND THE OCEAN
Hamilton's love for the ocean is no secret as she jumped right back onto her surfboard after losing her arm in a shark attack when she was 13 years old. The surfer also shares her surfing passion with her sons.
Having survived and overcome the tiger shark attack back in 2003, there doesn't seem to be much that can stand in the way of Hamilton. She lost 60% of her blood in the attack and adjusted to life without her left arm.
The mother of three has been penned down in the record books multiple times as she became the first woman to surf in the Rip Curl Cup back in 2012 and has won various championships throughout her career.
ESPY Award for the Best Comeback Athlete and the Courage Teen Choice Award are among the awards that Hamilton has won thus far and has also added author to her list of accomplishments.
