Massai is the oldest child of the Hollywood icon and at a young age, he picked up a place in his mom’s career. Long and Massai were mom-son goals in 2014 when they starred in Tyler Perry’s “The Single Mom’s Club.”
Once in an interview, Long shared that she had been busy on another TV project when Perry buzzed her to take the movie gig. He also promised to help lighten her busy schedule so she would not be stressed.

[Long] shared that her old acting coach helped put her son through.
While they prepared for “The Single Moms’ Club,” Long pitched an idea with the filmmaker letting him know her son Massai was the same age as her character’s son in the movie.
Although the “The Best Man” star knew Massai could adequately portray the role, she insisted Perry organize an audition after the actor noted that Massai did not need an audition.
Massai aced the audition and fans got to see him act alongside his mom in the movie. In another of her interviews, the “Love Jones” actress shared that her old acting coach helped put her son through.
Long noted that she was glad to have been in Perry's project because she helped shed more light on the struggles of single moms. Besides her Hollywood career, the "Fatal Affair" star holds motherhood at high priority.
This she confirmed once when she was talking about motherhood. At the time, she had just given birth to her second child, Kez, her son with fiancé, Ime Udoka.
The star shared that motherhood made her feel a rebirth, noting that seeing life through her son’s eyes helped her dwell on the simple things. To her, experiencing life through little Kez’s angle was refreshing.
