'Law & Order: SVU' Star Christopher Meloni Shows off Stunning Art from Fans of Elliot & Olivia
Christopher Meloni showed off beautiful painting portraits of himself and his co-star Mariska Hargitay on social media. Meloni’s fans were wowed over the paintings.
“Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” actor Christopher Meloni took to Instagram to showcase one of his dear friend's gifted talents of art sketching. He shared that it is an art collection.
“What I did yesterday: Collect art. Tnx @jessicar_ny. Strange and wondrous things happen on the streets of NYC. #LivingInCreativity #L&O: OC,” he wrote.

MELONI SHOWS OFF PAINTINGS
Meloni posted two snapshots of the portraits. The first one showed him holding a painting of him and Hargitay. The black and white sketch showed the pair standing close to each other with the actress leaning in with her head down.
59-year-old Meloni posed beaming while the actress had her hand on his shoulder. Meloni wore a v-neck T-shirt, and she wore a sleeveless top with a necklace.
On the up-close shot of Meloni, he wore a grey jacket with a contrasting color T-shirt underneath. He shared a slightly smiley face on the selfie.
The second photo showed Meloni holding a single portrait of himself. In a monochromatic theme, he looked merely distraught on the sketch with thick eyebrows and beard around his face.
NEW SERIES TEASER
As he showed off a wonderfully crafted painting of him and Hargitay, it was announced last month on the new key art for "Law & Order: Organized Crime" teaser that he is making a return.
According to E! Online, the new crime series is set to premiere on April 1. The new TV show is a spinoff of the “Law & Order: SVU” and is centered around Meloni, who carries on his role as Detective Elliot Stabler.
He reportedly returns to the NYPD to battle organized crime after a devastating personal loss. The cover states, "Stabler's coming home."
MELONI REFLECTS ON HIS EXIT
In February, he reflected on his abrupt departure from the franchise due to contract negotiations that led to his exit in 2011. He reportedly spoke to People about it after a decade-long hiatus.
"For me, it was all about how things fell out – and the word I'll use is that it was inelegant," he said. Meloni added that the way he left was unforeseen, and he went on to pursue other adventures and did what he wanted to do.
Despite his sudden exit, he noted that his longtime castmate Hargitay stayed in touch with him during the ten years that followed. Before the debut of his new show, he and the 57-year-old will reunite in an episode of "SVU” that introduces the new spinoff.
MELONI’S FRIENDSHIP WITH HARGITAY
Meloni and Hargitay co-starred on the series for 12 years as detective duo Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler before he left. They reminisced on their immediate connection and lasting friendship.
Meloni shared they met during the screen test, walked up on stage, and instantly connected. Hargitay concurred and said she also felt a bond when she first met him; although Hargitay could not fully understand it, she knew that meeting him was life-changing.
