William McDowell expressed his sweet affection to his long-time wife, soul-singing sensation Gladys Knight, on Instagram. He accompanied his post with his wife's glamorous look.

Many fans have been gushing about soul singer Gladys Knight's sweet relationship with her beloved husband, William McDowell. The couple has been married for 18 years.

McDowell, a musician, took to the online platform to share his beautiful wife's picture in a stunning blue costume. Knight pulled off a regal vibe in her stylish ensemble.

Knight, highly-regarded as the "Empress of Soul" in the music industry, was wearing a large blue head dress and a matching blue costume. McDowell wrote in his post:

"Legit! She is the Empress."

The 76-year-old Grammy Award-winning artist looked youthful as she beamed with a bright smile. Knight also showed off her large rings in both hands.

Knight's regal costume was part of her cameo appearance in the recently released movie "Coming 2 America," the sequel to the 1988 comedy film "Coming To America" led by Eddie Murphy.

In the film, the Atlanta-native songstress performed the "Midnight Train from Zamunda" parody of her 1973 hit song "Midnight Train to Georgia" with the Pips.

Many fans in the comment section agreed with what McDowell wrote that Knight is a true queen. A user described the "Love Overboard" songstress as a "legendary beauty."

Earlier, Knight performed for the 2021 NBA All-Star game. She delivered a soulful rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

Knight said getting the vaccine was "amazing."

Knight's heartfelt delivery of the song sent chills to fans and noted her exceptional singing voice. Last year, iconic singer Chaka Khan sang the national anthem.

Besides being the industry's well-preserved gem, Knight ensured that she uses her platform well. The singer and McDowell earlier urged African-Americans to get the COVID-19 vaccines.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2001, was among the latest public figures who submitted themselves to the COVID-19 vaccination last month. Knight said getting the vaccine was "amazing."

Knight was married thrice - to James Newman from 1960 to 1973, Barry Hankerson from 1974 to 1979, and Les Brown from 1995 to 1997.
