Kirk Franklin Apologizes after Cursing at Son Kerrion during a Phone Call — Fans Weigh In

Gospel music icon Kirk Franklin has shared his apologies concerning the revealing audio recording his son Kerrion Franklin released, showing a heated moment where Kirk went on a row.

Following the viral moment Kerrion Franklin shared a clip showing his star dad Kirk Franklin's audio recordings and their heated conversations, the music star has come out to say he is sorry.

In the clip shared on his Instagram page, Kirk donned an all-black outfit and a solemn look as he sat on a blue cushion, propping himself closer to the camera. Kirk noted that his son would be 33 by May and that they have had a pending issue for a while.

The award-winning gospel star relayed that for years he and Kerrion have had a strained relationship. He noted that his family got therapists involved, trying to resolve their private family issues.

The "Hero" crooner shared that on that fateful day the audio recording was made, he and Kerrion had a heated argument and things went south.

Kirk said that during the conversation, he felt disrespected, lost his temper, and went off on Kerrion with inappropriate words. The gospel singer went on apologizing, as he reassured fans that he later contacted the family therapist.

He added that he was a father who wanted the best for his loved ones, nonetheless, he was imperfect and working on his shortcomings. Kirk ended his speech by asking fans to keep his family in their prayers.

While some people clamped down on the 32-year-old, others felt they could relate to his plight.

Since he dropped the apology video, many fans have weighed in on the situation. Some people took to the comments, showing support for Kirk and sharing their opinions about the series of events that took place.

Other followers felt the celebrity did not need to put out an apology, letting him know that Kerrion was a grown man who needed to respect his father. Many disapproved of Kerrion's actions stating that he should not have put out their family's private issues.

Kerrion came out a second time, this time after his dad's apology video. He noted that Kirk was verbally abusive for a long time. He also referred to the choir director as manipulative.

This further caused mixed reactions among followers. While some people clamped down on the 32-year-old, others felt they could relate to his plight as they shared that it was quite traumatic to live with a verbally abusive parent.

Kerrion is Kirk's first child from a previous relationship before his 1996 marriage to Tammy Collins. He describes himself as an author, producer, and cinematographer on his Instagram page.
