FIRST TO LISTEN

Swift gave a brief but thoughtful acceptance speech while on stage holding her Grammy Award, acknowledging all those that directly impacted the award-winning album "Folklore." She gave Alwyn a shoutout saying:

“Joe, who is the first person that I play every single song that I write, and I had the best time writing songs with you in quarantine.”

Alwyn wrote songs for his girlfriend's newest album using the pseudonym William Bowery, adding to the mystery and intrigue of the music produced and making Swift's public thanks all the more significant.

RYAN AND BLAKE

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively were also on Swift's list of people to thank while standing behind the microphone. The acting couple and their three children James, Inez, and Betty, were mentioned by the pop star.

Alwyn's ultimate appearance was in his pop star girlfriend's documentary "Miss Americana."

Alongside her boyfriend and friends, Swift emphasized the role that the fans played in the success of "Folklore," which was released during the 2020 quarantine.

KEEPING THINGS PRIVATE

After numerous headlining relationships with the likes of Calvin Harris and Tom Hiddleston, Swift and Alwyn's paths crossed and have aligned next to each other ever since.

The couple was first rumored to be dating in June 2017 when they were seen together in Nashville. It wasn't until September 2018 when Alwyn spoke out about his private relationship with the singer, saying:

“I’m aware people want to know about that side of things. I think we have been successfully very private, and that has now sunk in for people.”

NOT A PUBLIC COUPLE

In the last four years, the number of times Swift and Alwyn have been spotted together can be counted on one hand. Their appearance at the BAFTAs after-party in London in February 2019 remains one of the few times they were seen together.

The couple was snapped, holding hands as they made their way to the party. The "Love Story" singer looked stunning in a light blue Stella McCartney dress, walking by her man's side.

The 2020 Golden Globes was also another big moment for Swift and her boyfriend. Keeping with their low profile, they didn't walk the red carpet together, but they were seen sitting next to each other once the event kicked off.

Alwyn's ultimate appearance was in his pop star girlfriend's documentary "Miss Americana." The film briefly showed Swift and Alwyn as she spoke about the start of their relationship and what he had meant to her at that time.
