"Well, I wish them a lot of luck," Trump said. "I think he's a great player and a great guy, and I think she's a terrific person, so I wish them a lot of luck."

In recent years, Trump has unleashed a torrent of online fury aimed squarely at Swift — slamming her for her political activism and Democratic endorsements. "I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!" he declared on Truth Social after she endorsed Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential race.

Not stopping there, Trump launched another personal jab, "Has anyone noticed that, since I said 'I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,' she's no longer 'HOT'?"

The chilling statements, made just months before this engagement announcement, now cast a curious shadow over Trump's apparent warm wishes.

3. Ed Kelce & Scott Swift Have the Same Advice for Travis' Proposal

Ed revealed that his son had actually proposed to Taylor almost two weeks earlier. Though Travis had planned to wait and stage something grand, Taylor began growing anxious as time dragged on, prompting the NFL star to switch gears and go with his heart.

Ed recalled advising his son, "And I told him repeatedly, you know, you could do it on the side of the road, do it any place that makes it a special event ... when you get down on one knee and ask her to marry you."

Ed added that Taylor's father, Scott Swift, had been giving Travis the same advice about keeping the proposal simple. So, when the moment came, Travis chose simplicity over spectacle.

The garden setting in Lee's Summit, Missouri, offered nothing flashy — just quiet and the kind of real intimacy that money can't buy. It was there, surrounded by blooming flowers and golden twilight, that Travis dropped to one knee and asked Taylor to become his wife.

"He got her out there, they were about to go out to dinner, and he said, 'let's go out and have a glass of wine,'... they got out there, and that's when he asked her, and it was beautiful. They started FaceTiming me and their mother and her folks to make sure everybody knew. So, to see them together is great," Ed described.

2. Critics Don't Hold Back While Fans Leap to Taylor Swift's Defense

What should've been a joyous milestone became a digital tug-of-war, with fans and critics alike scrutinizing every angle of Swift's engagement ring. One particularly harsh netizen said, "Nice ring from vending machine."

And it didn't stop there. The critics kept pouring in. "The diamond itself is pretty, but the shape of it and the band are pretty bland," one person noted, while another added, "I just think it looks so very plain yet gaudy."

And the love didn't stop there. "Love old mine cuts. They sparkle more than modern brilliant cuts in my opinion," one fan wrote. A different commenter shared, "Travis did a great job with the ring. It's beautiful. I felt a sense of joy and happiness for them as if they are my closest friends. ❤️"

While fans continue to swoon over Swift's engagement ring, Page Six confirmed that the piece was a custom creation co-designed by Kelce and Kindred Lubeck, the master jeweler behind the boutique brand Artifex Fine.

1. Jewelers Weigh in on the Value of Taylor Swift's Vintage Sparkler

As soon as the ring was revealed, the real buzz began — not just from starstruck fans, but from jewelry experts eager to weigh in on the eye-catching sparkler. One thing they all agree on? It's no ordinary diamond.

Starting with the most modest assessment, Ann Grimmett, vice president of merchandising at Jared Jewelers, estimated the ring to be worth between $250,000 and $500,000.

She described the center stone as a bezel-set, 7 to 9 carat, elongated old mine cushion cut, set in 18k yellow gold. "The side stones look to be a half-moon plus a small round, which contribute to its more vintage look," she explained.

Meanwhile, Neil Dutta, managing director at Angelic Diamonds, saw far more than sentiment in the ring's gleam. "This antique-inspired style is very on trend right now, and the choice of yellow gold gives the ring a warm, romantic feel that suits her perfectly," Dutta said. His estimate? Between $1.3 million and $1.5 million.

And if you think that's extravagant — just wait. The highest valuation came from none other than George Khalife, better known as George the Jeweler. He believes the center diamond could be close to 20 carats, and values the piece between a staggering $3.5 million and $5 million.

"The ring seems to come with some serious history! Old Mine diamonds are rare and hard to come by," Khalife said. He emphasized that the diamond is naturally occurring and hand-cut, using centuries-old techniques that give it its distinctive vintage glow — and make it a perfect match for Swift's signature old-soul style.

More Experts Say This Ring Captures the Pop Star's Soul

While much of the conversation centered on the ring's value, Marrow Fine founder Jillian Sassone highlighted what makes the diamond truly unique. "No two are ever the same," Sassone shared in a statement, referring to antique diamonds like the Grammy-winning singer. She described it as "effortless, classic," and "very Swift."

Meanwhile, Hannah Florman, a bespoke jeweler who specializes in high-end engagement rings, also shared similar sentiments.

"High-color antiques are extremely rare," Florman shared. "Because of the technology available at the time, stones were often cut in a way that resulted in a lower color grade than what you see here, so I imagine sourcing this quality and size of stone led to an inflated cost."

Florman also pointed out the ring's signature shape, which is soft and pillow-like, a clear departure from today's modern ovals.
