ADORABLE GIRL IN BLUE

In her adorable blue dress, Genesis charmed her mother's Instagram followers as she beamed with happiness. The Easter bunny beside her was wearing a green vest with a matching ribbon.

She tied her curly hair in a ponytail that she topped with a headband. Both the mascot and Genesis sat against flower-decorated walls. One of the fans commented in Davis' post:

LIFE AFTER ADOPTING GENESIS

Despite not being biologically related, Davis' love for her daughter is boundless. The "Fences" star and her husband, Julius Tennon, adopted Genesis as a baby in 2011.

Although Davis' husband has grown-up children of his own, their lives changed for the better since adopting Genesis. For instance, they were able to show the world the realities of being a Black family when they became cover stars of the April edition of W Magazine.

Genesis starred alongside the couple in Regina King's emotional photo essay titled, "Black Americana: A Photo Essay on Love and Pain."

The magazine cover's essay and pictures depicted the struggles of Black families in the country, which Davis experienced growing up. As a child, the actress lived in extreme poverty.

Despite a difficult life in the past, Davis is determined to keep Genesis grounded. The "How to Get Away with Murder" star said her number one fear was to raise an entitled child.

Davis will portray Michelle Obama in Shomax's upcoming "The First Lady" series.

PASSING ON A PASSION

Besides letting her daughter grow up humble, Davis is also passing on her love for acting to Genesis. Her daughter had her voice acting debut in "The Angry Birds Movie 2" in 2019.

Davis has acted in the entertainment industry for several years. Several awards have been given for her acting prowess, including an Oscar, an Emmy, and a Tony, which made her the first Black actress to win these prestigious honors.
