Kandi Burruss recently revealed how she managed to shed 20 lbs in just 4 months. According to the television personality, she lost the quarantine weight with a fast, a little help from appetite suppressants, and her co-stars.

Burruss disclosed that she does a prayer fast every year for about 2 months, but she lengthened it to 4 months this year. In this fast, the only liquid she consumed was water, and she cut out many unhealthy foods such as bread.

The singer-songwriter admitted that she did need a little assistance with the weight loss beyond her own efforts, opting to take some appetite suppressants. In her own words, she expressed:

"And then I took some appetite suppressants so I wasn't so hungry all the time."

Burruss also confessed that she still wants to shed some more pounds - 10, to be exact. However, she jokingly said she has been cheating a little with sweets and needs to look out for that to stay on course.

SKINNY HOUSEWIVES OF ATLANTA

Burruss hasn't been on this journey alone. Two co-stars from "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," Kenya Moore and Cynthia Bailey, joined her to keep each other focused on losing the quarantine weight.

In the past, she stated that songwriting was a freeing process for her, helping her realize her strength and independence.

She commended Moore for how much weight she lost out of all three of them. She thinks that most people are currently trying to firm up their bodies after the weight gained during the COVID-19 lockdown.

SNATCHED UP

Burruss had some more aid via her cousin, a trainer, who volunteered to work out with her. While she does make sure to exercise and stay fit, the television personality has deeper opinions about looking good, saying:

"We’ve got to stop thinking that we have to be snatched to get snatched up."

By that, the celebrity meant that she has come to believe that one's figure is not what determines whether they will find someone to love them or not. However, she continued, this revelation hasn't stopped her from trying to lose weight.

FLAUNT THAT FIGURE

After losing the pounds and revealing how she shed the extra weight, Burruss took to Instagram to show off her fabulous figure. She stood in full confidence, sporting a tiny Louis Vuitton swimsuit.

In the first picture of the post, the television personality showed off her body from the front. The second photo was even more unabashed, with her flaunting her backside to her camera.

She also co-wrote many songs for her own singing group Xscape during the early 1990s, which eventually disbanded. In the past, she stated that songwriting was a freeing process for her, helping her realize her strength and independence.
