Washington State Mother Stabbed to Death & a 5-Year-Old Was Severely Injured, Suspect Arrested
A suspect has been arrested following a horrific crime committed against a mother and her daughter, with the alleged criminal now being held behind bars at a bond of $1.5 million.
In a North Spokane home, a mother was stabbed to death while her daughter was severely injured. The accused is now being charged with second-degree attempted murder and second-degree murder.
The community has held a night vigil for the now late mother, Kassie Dewey, 35, and her daughter Lilly, 5. It has been reported that the young girl was estimated to be stabbed between 7-10 times.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT
Dewey's sister has started a GoFundMe campaign in order to raise funds for the medical costs that have been incurred due to her niece being treated in the ICU. The afflicted aunt stated:
"The family is devastated by this tragedy and we are requesting any donations for my niece and her siblings to navigate the costs."
Continuing, the page read that her two other siblings were not in the house during the stabbings. They said that they would also appreciate prayers and good vibes.

THE MAIN SUSPECT
The main suspect in the case is Dewey's ex-boyfriend Joshua P. Phillips, 41. When the police found him, he appeared inebriated and upon further investigation, it was claimed he was suicidal during the ordeal.
Lilly reportedly is getting better.
The two were said to have a strenuous partnership while together. It is alleged that Phillips was kicked out of Dewey's house and had texted her around 100 messages the day prior to the stabbing.
CALLING 911
On the day of the tragedy, Dewey was meant to pick up her two other children from school. When this didn't happen, their father stepped in, dropping the two kids off at home.
The kids noticed the house was quite messy. After hearing a running car inside the garage, they tried to open the door but failed and called the police, who found Dewey dead in the garage and her daughter injured.
FINALLY RECOVERING
Since the first instance of the GoFundMe campaign has been put up, Lilly reportedly is getting better. The statement written on the campaign page yesterday read:
"Lilly has been doing well the past couple of days."
The update further stated that she is gaining some level of consciousness and becoming slightly aware. Finally, they thanked everyone for their donations and support.
Recently, another man turned violent towards his ex-partner. Entering into Bob Evans Restaurant in Ohio, an armed man shot and killed a waitress, who just so happened to be his ex-girlfriend.
The police chief of Canton commented on the matter, saying that there were reports of domestic abuse between the two. He emphasized that this matter should never be taken lightly.
