Ohio Waitress at a Bob Evans Restaurant Is Fatally Shot in Front of Her Co-workers & Customers

With a history of domestic violence, an Ohio waitress's ex-boyfriend entered a restaurant armed with a gun, aiming to shoot his ex-lover.

During the late morning of April 16, a local police station in the city of Canton received calls of a shooter inside Bob Evans Restaurant. An Ohio waitress was fatally shot at the scene in front of her co-workers and customers.

According to Canton Police Chief Jack Angelo, the police responded swiftly to the calls arriving at the crime scene. On arrival, the suspect, identified as Richard James Nelson, had taken off.

POLICE CHIEF REPORT

The police were under the impression that there were numerous victims of the incident. However, upon further investigation, they only found the waitress. The Police Chief expressed:

"We did only locate one victim and that was a female waitress."

Carrying on, he reported that she was found in a hallway at the rear end of the building. She also had incurred several injuries where the suspect had shot her.

CALLS FOR HELP

No other employees were injured at the scene. At the time of the crime, multiple customers had hidden under the tables out of fear, making countless calls to the police station asking for help.

He has been charged with aggravated murder.

The cops eventually cleared all customers and employees out of the restaurant and transported the waitress to the hospital. Unfortunately, she did not make it.

A HISTORY OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

There was purportedly a history of domestic violence that had been recorded in the past. Speaking on the matter, the Police Chief stated:

"Domestic violence is a dangerous thing."

Continuing, he said that people need to treat domestic violence with grave importance. He claimed that this was because these incidents and results of this type of violence are more common than many realize

CHARGED WITH AGGRAVATED MURDER

The victim, Rebecca Jean Rogers, filed a report against Nelson in 2017 when he allegedly broke into her house, but was found at fault for filing a false report. Angelo said they did keep track of the two just in case.

Law enforcers did end up arresting Nelson at 8:30 pm at East Canton, and he has been charged with aggravated murder. Customers and employees at the scene have been offered counseling services.

Abuse and domestic violence happen on all levels of society. Following Evan Rachel Wood's accusations that Marilyn Manson abused her, many other women have claimed the same.

However, Dita Von Teese, another ex-girlfriend of the controversial music artist, has come out to defend him. Von Teese, who was married to Manson for a while, claimed that she had experienced no abuse.
