15-Year-Old Sanaa Amenhotep Found Dead 3 Weeks after She Was Kidnapped, 3 Teens Arrested in Connection to Her Death

Family and community members grieve 15-year-old Sanaa Amenhotep after three individuals allegedly murdered her in a purported kidnapping.

Fifteen-year-old Sanaa Amenhotep was found dead three weeks after she was kidnapped. After an investigation, three teenagers were arrested by the police.

On April 29, 2021, Sheriff Leon Lott from Richland County updated the media on the Amenhotep case. Unfortunately, he broke the news that she had been found that same morning in Lexington County.

THE SHERIFF'S STATEMENT

He announced that Amenhotep had been killed. At the time, the information they had collected was that she had gone out with two male acquaintances on the night of her murder.

Amenhotep was missing for almost a month before she was found dead in a wooded area.

The police had apprehended a juvenile male for kidnapping. They were searching for 18-year-old Treveon Nelson as well, who the Lexington Sheriff's Office reported as detained on May 1, 2021.

ANOTHER SUSPECT FOUND

The Lexington Sheriff's Office has also made a statement that another suspect, a female minor, has been detained concerning the case. Lott continued to expand on the case, expressing:

"I know this community is touched by her dissaperance."

He added that the community is sending their love to the family of Amenhotep. Nelson is facing many charges such as assault and kidnapping.

SHOOT TO KILL

Amenhotep was missing for almost a month before she was found dead in a wooded area. Reports allege that upon convincing her to join them, the three individuals rode away in a stolen car.

They have since been said to have shot her in a field in Leesville on April 5, 2021, resulting in her death. The Coroner from Lexington County confirmed that she died from numerous wounds due to gunshots.

GRIEVING HIS DAUGHTER

Following the incident and findings, the young teenager's father took to Facebook to mourn the loss of his little girl. He expressed guilt over not being able to prevent the murder, stating:

"Hari I’m sorry Princess I didn’t protect u."

Continuing, he expressed that she will always remain with him and that he would give up his life for her. His post was received with the utmost compassion, many sending their condolences.

Another teenage girl was found dead this past April. She was discovered unconscious at a hog-site building in Iowa, where she was helping to clean the facility.

Her funeral service was scheduled to be held on April 25, 2021. So far, the cause of her death has not been determined, but the investigation is ongoing.
