Animal Expert Jack Hanna Is a Doting Father to Three Daughters — Meet His Beloved Family

Jack Hanna is not only an iconic wildlife expert but also a family man who couldn't love his three daughters more. He shares Kathaleen, Suzanne, and Julie with his wife, Suzi Egli.

Wildlife expert Jack Hanna has frequented television screens accompanied by various animals over the years, but behind-the-scenes, the Emmy Award winner has a rich family life.

Hanna and his wife of more than five decades, Suzi Egli, share a special family, including their three daughters Kathaleen, Suzanne, and Julie, all of whom are extremely proud of their father and the work he has done.

BUILDING A LEGACY

Hanna has built up his legacy throughout his time as the zookeeper on numerous shows, including "Animal Adventures," "Into the Wild," and "Wild Countdown." The animal expert has become a beloved television personality over the years.

But Hanna hasn't always done it alone, as he often roped in his three girls to tag along as he did appearances on big stages across the country and worked on his own shows. His kids couldn't be more proud of their dad as they shared:

“To say that we are abundantly proud to be his daughters is an understatement.”

GROWING UP

Hanna's daughters are now not only all grown up, but they have also started with their own families. His oldest daughter, Kathaleen, married a British man and immigrated to the U.K. with him.

Columbus Zoo and Aquarium also expressed their sadness over Hanna's diagnosis.

The middle child Suzanne is married to Billy, and the couple has settled down in Cincinnati, Ohio. They share four children. Julie follows in her father's footsteps and works at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium as an animal educator.

THE TOLE OF ALZHEIMER'S

Unfortunately, Kathaleen, Suzanne, and Julie are now left to see the quick decline of their father's health. Hanna was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, which has resulted in his complete withdrawal from public life.

The 74-year-old's condition was announced by his family in a lengthy post on Twitter, where they recalled the great impact that he had throughout his life. The statement reads:

"His condition has progressed much faster in the last few months than any of us could have anticipated. Sadly, Dad is no longer able to participate in public life."

STILL IN KHAKIS

In their touching letter released on social media, Hanna's three daughters were sure to applaud their mother for her life-long support of their father and her continued care for him as he battles Alzheimer's disease.

Columbus Zoo and Aquarium also expressed their sadness over Hanna's diagnosis and shared that the entire family has their love and support during this difficult time.

The Hanna family is not the only one touched by the horrible effects of Alzheimer's disease, with various celebrities coming forward to share that their family members have also been through the struggle of the brain's deterioration.

Actor Owen Wilson's father was also a victim of the disease and lost his battle in 2017. The famous activist Rosa Parks also passed away at the hands of Alzheimer's. She was 93.
