6-Year-Old Fatally Shot at a San Antonio Car Club Meetup – Suspect Arrested
23-year-old Andrew Ray Elizondo has been taken into custody and charged with capital murder following the fatal shooting of a 6-year-old girl in Texas.
A San Antonia car club meet-up turned into the killing of a 6-year-old girl when a dispute broke out, and gunshots were fired. The little girl was sitting inside a vehicle when the fight erupted.
The vehicle tried to drive away when the suspect opened fire. The victim was fatally shot, and her mother, seated in the back of the vehicle, sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

TRAGIC DEATH
Police chief William McManus held a press conference shown on the San Antonio Police Department Facebook page. McManus provided details surrounding the tragic death, saying:
"One of the persons in attendance got into some kind of argument or altercation and started firing shots, started shooting, and struck a young girl."
The little girl was transported to University Hospital by the first responders, where she later passed away. The Bexar County Medical Examiner identified the girl as Saryah Perez.
UNDER ARREST
Since the shooting and tragic death of Perez, the authorities have investigated the incident, which led them to the arrest of a suspect. Andrew Ray Elizondo, 23, was taken into custody.
As the vehicle drives off out of the parking lot where the car club meet-up took place four gunshots were fired.
The San Antonio Police Department shared an update on social media confirming that Elizondo is the suspect behind the shooting and is now facing capital murder charges.
TEXAS VIOLENCE
The shooting took place on NW 24th Street and W. Commerce Street just after 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, leaving Perez's mother in mourning on the day after Mother's Day.
McManus took to Twitter to share a photo of him consoling the distraught mother that just lost her 6-year-old daughter. The police chief shared his shock and sadness over the situation, saying:
"To hug a mother grieving her 6-year-old baby girl the day after Mother’s Day... The violence has to stop."

As authorities search for answers about Perez's death, various videos have surfaced showing the incident from different angles. One video shows a red car driving away, being chased by numerous people.

is also mourning the death of a child after a 7-year-old boy was shot and killed. The suspect, Douglas Wilson, has been taken into custody and charged with murder.
The victim, Zakylen Greylen Harris, was killed in a drive-by shooting in Hickory. The boy was transported to Catawba Valley Medical Center, where he later died.
