A neighborhood in Dallas, Texas, will never be the same again after a child’s body was found in the street. An adult male has since been arrested in relation to this incident.

On Saturday morning, the police were called out to a neighborhood in Texas. The Dallas Police Department (DPD) found a 4-year-old’s body in the street near Mountain Creek Parkway and West Wheatland Road.

The actual location of the victim’s body was in the 7500 block of Saddleridge Drive. Local reports revealed that at the scene, the toddler was pronounced dead by police officers who responded to the 911 call.

A resident in the area, Antwainese Square, was jogging around 6:40 a.m. when she discovered the boy's body. She couldn’t help but express her heartbreak seeing such a young child dead in the street.

Square, 39, immediately called the police and stayed at the crime scene to watch over the body. The police said they believed that the young victim was from the neighborhood where he was found dead.

The Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) has joined forces with the local police to investigate the matter. In a press release, Albert Martinez, the police executive assistant chief, sadly noted:

"A child was murdered through a violent act.”

Martinez shared how very upset he and other officers were about what had happened to the child. Showing how shocking the whole incident was to everyone, including authorities, Martinez also said:

"Even us as police officers, we are shocked."

On Saturday, in the middle of the afternoon, authorities focused their investigation on a wooded trail close to where the body was found. The trail, which was popular for biking, was sealed off with crime-scene tape.
