Teenage Girl from Louisiana Begged for Her Life after 5 Men Attacked Then Shot Her
In a shocking and gruesome attack in New Iberia, a teenage girl was shot while trying to get something from her car. Five men are currently the suspects in the case, and no one has been arrested.
On Sunday night, Azarie Frederick, 18, from New Iberia, Louisiana, went outside her home to get a soda from her vehicle when she was shot. The girl’s mother, Monique Frederick, said five men were involved in the attack.
According to Monique, the suspects hid behind a tree while one of them hid next to the house, waiting for Azarie to come outside. The woman’s daughter said the five men all had guns.

When the shooting started, Monique’s daughter ran to the back of the house and jumped the fence. However, the damage had already been done as she escaped to her backyard, with her mother recalling:
“When I opened up the back door, she said, ‘Mama, they shot me in my chest.'”

One of their neighbors who’d heard the gunfire rushed over to try and perform first aid to keep the teenager alive. Monique revealed that the neighbor lived across the street from them.
Azarie begged the neighbor not to let her die, and he promised he wouldn’t. The neighbor managed to keep Monique’s daughter alert and awake until emergency responders arrived and took her to the hospital.
Fortunately for Azarie, doctors were able to stabilize her, but she’s now fighting for her life. Monique shared how she believed her daughter hadn’t been the target of the shooting and feared they would return.

The parent said the gunmen were looking for Azarie’s brother when she happened to ask her daughter to get her a soda. New Iberia Police are currently working on identifying the suspects.
