Many fans and celebrities extended their birthday greetings to Lopes and noted how they missed her zestful showmanship on stage. Actress Regina King wrote, "No one like her!"

Lopes, who was close to celebrating her 31st birthday at the time, tragically died in a car crash on April 25, 2002. The fiery singer was bound for a healing village in Honduras when the incident happened.

Chili said it was painful to lose Lopes in an unfortunate time as she was an important figure in TLC. Her life may have been cut short, but her legacy remains.

Known for her fast-paced raps, Lopes was regarded as TLC's most creative member. Their band took the world by storm after debuting their album "Ooooooohhh… On the TLC Tip" in 1992.

With her creativity, she helped her band become the most successful band in history. Chilli earlier noted that Lopes was an adventurous woman with several personalities in one body.

Lopes was also notorious for setting her then-boyfriend Andre Rison's house on fire after an ugly fight.

Besides her show-stopping acts on stage, Lopes was notable for her tiny stature. She was likewise iconic for her round eyes and excessive sense of fashion.

Amid TLC's stellar career, they would often be involved in controversies because of Lopes' fierce attitude. T-Boz previously remarked that Lopes was a "starter" of certain issues.

Lopes was notorious for setting her then-boyfriend Andre Rison's house on fire after an ugly fight. She was charged with arson with a $10,000 fine, time in a halfway house, and five-year probation.

But T-Boz and Chili look beyond Lopes' past controversies as they continue to pay tribute to her and relive her memory in their upcoming shows.
