La La Anthony has officially filed for divorce from Carmelo Anthony. This comes after they faced trouble in their marriage on multiple occasions due to Carmelo's alleged infidelity.

It appeared that after many years of drama, La La Anthony and Carmelo Anthony were finally healing their relationship. These assumptions have proven untrue, and both have decided to cut the cord for good.

La La officially filed for divorce this past Thursday in New York, citing irreconcilable differences. Sources stated that the two had already been separated for a significant period of time.

In 2017, among speculation that Carmelo had been unfaithful, the couple decided to split. The following year, it seemed as though the two were reconciling, but by 2019, their union looked to be on the rocks again, a rep stating:

"As La La and Carmelo have been living apart for quite some time, La La is proceeding with legal discussions as the next step in their relationship."

Once again, cheating rumors swirled around the announcement of trouble in paradise. At the time, television personality La La purportedly said their marriage was "strained."

According to sources, the divorce is amicable. They claim that the basketball player and La La are choosing to remain friends.

These sources purport that their priority is their 14-year-old son, Kiyan. The two reportedly want to make sure the divorce goes as smoothly for his sake.

The former couple officially said their "I do's" in 2010, with their divorce ending their marriage after a decade of being together as husband and wife. La La, who is 41 years old, was with Carmelo since the age of 19.

In the past, she implied that she was willing to work on the relationship due to its longevity. The author and businesswoman stated that it's nonsensical to give up on a union after such a long period has passed.

The pair appeared to have made it work during quarantine. La La said she and Carmelo were together with their son on the West Coast and were on agreeable terms.

She confided that she found her time indoors with the two easy and smooth. Her son was grateful for the friendly situation between her and Carmelo.

La La also affirmed that she and Kiyan formed a closer bond amid the quarantine. She got to experience more mother-and-son moments with him and learn more about his interests.

Speaking about the pandemic and its emotional toll on individuals, she advised parents to be careful of only focusing on how they feel. La La encouraged them to always check in on their children.
