The shooting spree occurred in 8 different incidents, which took place within an hour an half. The first shooting is believed to have taken place at about 11:10 am on the border of Glendale and Peoria.

The 12 injured people are expected to recover as their injuries are not life-threatening. In a briefing, police officials noted that the motive behind the crime is yet to be determined.
Peoria police Sgt. Brandon Sheffert said that many people are affected and shaken by the situation and seek answers to the true motive and state of the prime suspect.
Officers were surprised at the reaction of the unidentified suspect when approached by cops. The suspect pulled into a parking lot and did not try shooting at the officers during a traffic stop.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives is working to match ballistic shell casings from the shooting scenes and trace the recovered gun to know if the shooter purchased it or obtained it.
