A suspect believed to be responsible for the death of an individual, with 12 others suffering from injuries, has been arrested by the Arizona Police Department.

By the time police officials arrived at the scene, an adult was found in a vehicle with a gunshot wound. The victim and witnesses provided authorities with the suspect's description, which was used to track him down.

The shooting spree occurred in 8 different incidents, which took place within an hour an half. The first shooting is believed to have taken place at about 11:10 am on the border of Glendale and Peoria.

It continued through the area until the suspect was later found and detained at about 12:42 pm. According to reports, four victims suffered gunshot wounds while others got injured from car accidents or shrapnel.

Peoria police Sgt. Brandon Sheffert said that many people are affected and shaken by the situation and seek answers to the true motive and state of the prime suspect.

Officers were surprised at the reaction of the unidentified suspect when approached by cops. The suspect pulled into a parking lot and did not try shooting at the officers during a traffic stop.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives is working to match ballistic shell casings from the shooting scenes and trace the recovered gun to know if the shooter purchased it or obtained it.

The suspect's home will be searched for other weapons, although police officials believe there are no other suspects related to the shootings. People with helpful information are to call 623-773-8311.

An 8-year-old was severely injured in a similar story while a 22-year-old lost his life from gunshot wounds in a drive-by shooting in South Los Angeles. The rise in gun violence is a growing concern amongst citizens, and authorities have been asked to help promote safety.
