Woman Causes Car Crash With High-Speed Driving — She Asked God to 'Take the Wheel'
A woman decided to test her faith in God by driving uncontrolled and at high speed through a red traffic light. Her reason for this behavior was unexpected—she allegedly let go of the wheel so that God could take control of her life.
In Beachwood, Ohio, a camera captured chilling footage of a car speeding through the streets of Richmond Road. The woman behind the wheel was not alone in the car when she displayed these risky actions in mid-June.
In the car with the 31-year-old woman was her young daughter. She had allegedly damaged power lines, a home, and a utility pole during her road mayhem. Not only did she ignore a red traffic light, but her speed was estimated at more than 100 mph!

THE REASON FOR HER DRIVING
Police arrived at the scene on Richmond Road to investigate what had transpired. Fortunately, traffic cameras provided video footage that showed them just how careless the woman's driving had been.
The incident occurred just before midnight, and the woman suspected of being behind the wheel had an unexpected reason for her driving. It wasn't linked to driving under the influence. Instead, it was purportedly because of her faith.

ASKING GOD TO TAKE THE WHEEL
As seen in the video, the woman, who crashed into another car, allegedly told authorities that her actions were intentional. She said that she drove at such a fast pace to "test her faith with God."
She detailed how the trials in her life, such as losing her job, had pushed her to seek active help from God. In the police report, she expressed that she “let go and let God take the wheel.”

THE CONSEQUENCES
The woman's speeding spree thankfully did not cause any harm to pedestrians or other drivers, but she did do damage to property. Despite these consequences, she allegedly believed her actions were justified.
Information in the police report indicated that the woman thought she did the right thing by losing control of her vehicle. She was sent for tests at the hospital, but no signs that substances had influenced her mental state were present.

MORE STRANGE BEHAVIOR ON THE ROAD
The woman allegedly faced various charges, including felony assault, endangering a child, and driving under suspension. This woman was not the only one spotted displaying strange behavior on the road.
In a different video, a woman is seen attempting to run across the road toward oncoming traffic. It is alleged that in November 2020, an officer darted after the woman and pulled her away from speeding cars in the nick of time.
