"who did your makeup? Fire them."

Union also noted that time and again, social media users made comments about her daughters' hair. However, she wanted her daughters— Kaavia and Zaya, to be the decision-makers when it came to their hair.

For Wade and Union, it was all about allowing their kids to be their true selves. The latter had struggled with being accepted into society while growing up.

Once, the "10 Things I Hate About You" star said she used to believe that one needed to have a certain hair texture to be beautiful or dynamic.

But now, she does not feel that way anymore. Union loves her hair and believes she can achieve everything she wants and has dreamt of in her natural hair. So, she and Wade are raising their kids to know that they are worthy because they exist.

The lovebirds have been married since 2014 and share one daughter together. However, Wade also fathers three children— Zaire, Zaya, and Xavier. The basketball legend and his beautiful wife are also raising the former's nephew, Dahveon.
