Meghan Markle recently clocked 40 and marked her big day with a lovely video where she announced her birthday plans and encouraged renowned women to take part in them.

Added to the information she shared, her clip gave viewers a sweet glimpse of the spotless study of her Montecito lavish home, but some Twitter users slammed her for hypocrisy.

BIRTHDAY VIDEO

The mother-of-two marked her 40th birthday with a warm home shot video of her and "Bridesmaids" actress Melissa McCarthy speaking about her birthday plans.

The two stars joked about how Markle could possibly celebrate her big day and enjoyed a series of sweet banters. In addition, the two pals joked about getting tattoos or hosting a reunion for Markle's "Suits" cast.

Finally, Markle revealed she planned on asking forty of her friends to mentor forty women going back to the workplace for 40 minutes. The 40-year-old Duchess claimed the exercise would help women regain their confidence in the workplace.

Markle said, "For my birthday, I have asked 40 friends, activists, athletes, artists, and world leaders to help kick off a global effort by contributing 40 minutes of mentorship to support women re-entering the workforce."

The clip featured a series of lovely moments, including Markle's husband Harry, 36, juggling in the background, but for most viewers, the setting of Markle's study was worth a second glance.

ALL DESIGNS EXPLAINED

In her birthday clip, viewers got to see their well-decorated study, which featured a cream wall, a luxury designer throw, and vintage oak furniture.

After quitting the silent life behind the palace walls for a more robust and fulfilling life in California, Markle and her husband, Harry the Duke of Sussex, are living their dream life.

Since leaving the royal family, the couple has sealed a series of top deals, raking in millions to enable them to afford and sustain their luxury lifestyle, which they were entitled to as royals.

Harry and Markle splashed millions to purchase their luxury California home where they now reside with their growing family. The home features eye-catching detail, including expensive furniture.

Markle's study seemed to have been set up with her video in mind, and some followers believe that each item present in the room had a secret message attached to it.

In a post explaining the details of the study, Markle's fina bona china from which she sipped her tea is said to be indicative of Markle's attempt to showcase her style of sophistication rather than what was obtainable within the palace.

A white crystal lying on Markle's table allegedly represents her purity and innocence, perhaps contrary to the media's portrayal of her character as cunning and hypocritical.

The 40-year-old had a Macbook Air sitting before her while several copies of her children's book decorated her table. These are all said to be Markle's deliberate attempt to create an impression as she opened her home to the world.

FANS REACT

Several Twitter users took to the platform to bash the Duchess for being hypocritical, while some remarked that everything looked like a publicity stunt.

One user wrote, "It's cleverly staged like every PR they put out; this to me does not represent a "normal family home" with dogs, more like a show house or top-notch hotel lobby? Where are the kid's toys lying on the floor or furniture? Come to think, where are the tots? nothing normal at all."

A second user was certain that Markle used her clip as a publicity post and wondered why she had several copies of her book lying on the table. Finally, a third user wrote,

"That room looks as cold and unattractive as she is."

OTHER REACTIONS

Fans were not the only ones to have faulted Markle's birthday clip. Some celebrities felt the Duchess was not real, and others wondered why she was not talking normally.

Karl Stefanovic and Sophie Walsh mocked the Duchess for lecturing other women to get back to work when she left her job less than two years ago.

Also, royal commentator Angela Levin noted that she finds Markle's initiative absurd, seeing that she has not been able to keep a job herself.
