One evening a terrible car crash happened, and three music directors were killed. Luckily, they all made it to the pearly gates of heaven and were greeted by St. Peter.

"Welcome," greeted St. Peter. "So I suppose you all want to get into heaven?"

The first director, a band director, exclaimed, "Yes, please!"

"Okay," said St. Peter. "You will just have to do a little test, but not to worry, it is related to the career you had on Earth!"

The three directors nodded, and the band director said, "Okay, I'm ready!"

So Saint Peter asked, "How did you tune your band?"

"Oh, that's simple," remarked the band director, "I tune in concert B-flat."

"Perfect!" exclaimed St. Peter. "Welcome to heaven!" and with that, the gates opened, and the band director walked into heaven.

Then it was the orchestra director's turn. "Okay, " said St. Peter as he turned to the director. "How do you tune your orchestra?"

He quickly replied, "A-440," and he was admitted into heaven.

The last musician, a choir director, was up next. He had been growing in confidence as he had watched his two colleagues get into heaven so easily.

He walked proudly and confidently to the gates, stood in front of St. Peter, and indicated that he was ready for his test. And St. Peter asked him to "spell 'onomatopoeia'!"

Suffice to say that the choir director did not make it into heaven!

If you enjoyed that Heavenly joke, check out the one below about a feud between a pastor and a music minister!

HEAVENLY BALLADS

A church in Philadelphia hired a new pastor. However, the music minister immediately disliked the new addition to the church, and eventually, their conflict spilled into the Sunday Services.

During the first service, the pastor gave a lovely speech about commitment and how the congregation should dedicate their lives to serving one another. However, the music minister played the song, "I Shall Not Be Moved."

For the second week, the pastor preached about tithing and how important it was for the church members to contribute to the church each week. The music minister then played the song, "Jesus Paid It All."

For the third week, the pastor preached about gossiping and how people should watch what they say about each other. However, the music minister led the song, "I Love to Tell the Story."

At this point, the pastor had caught on to the music minister's petty song choices. He was very embarrassed about how their feud was disrupting the services.

Feeling like perhaps this church was not the right place for him, the pastor explained to the congregation that he was thinking about resigning the following week. So the music minister played the song, "Oh, Why Not Tonight?"

Sure enough, the pastor did resign. He gave his farewell sermon the next week and explained that Jesus had called him to the church, and Jesus was now calling him away. The music minister then played the song "What A Friend We Have in Jesus."
