‘Dynasty’ Star Linda Evans Opens Up About Starring in Her First Film in Decades After Health Struggles
If you love yourself a good primetime soap, you have likely watched the '80s drama series " Dynasty," in which the beautiful Linda Evans starred before completely falling off the screens, and now she's back.
Linda Evans graced the screens in the '80s when she starred in the drama "Dynasty" playing Krystle Carrington, the wife of an oil tycoon. But when the show ended in 1989, Evans fell off the grid.
She relocated to rural Washington and completely stopped looking for work. She began a journey of self-discovery, only returning to Hollywood to shoot the reality competition show "Hell's Kitchen" in 2009.

Things would turn around in 2019 when she came across a script for the dark comedy "Swan Song," which she fell in love with and was soon on her way to shooting her first movie after decades-long hiatus.
She says returning to shooting movies was a nervous experience for her, as she'd not done it for so long. She remembers the last time she worked as having her own make-up and hair team following her everywhere.
She is, however, excited that now it is just her doing what she does best. She says returning to the stage at 78 only confirms her beliefs that life can offer infinite possibilities. She says:
"What are the odds that I'd be back working at 78? It's so outrageous, but as I always love to say, 'Anything is possible.'"
Evans assumes the role of a socialite in the movie that points out what it is like to be struggling with life at an advanced age.
But it has not been all rosy for the septuagenarian. In 2006, Evan's friend and two sisters suffered serious illnesses. Being powerless to help them, she fell into depression. She says she fell apart and had to struggle to find her way back up.
Her woes were anything but over, and in 2012, she suffered physical agony from a slipped disc, and for the years that would follow, she plunged back into depression. She had to undergo several surgeries to correct her problem.
[Evans] never remarried, is not dating, and maintains that she is happily single.
Evan's career took off when she was only 15, and after her dad passing on from cancer, she started living on her mom's Social Security, so when she was offered money to be cast in a role, she couldn't say no.
The star would go on to accept her first role in the sitcom "Bachelor Father" and also star in various movies such as "The Big Valley," but she never fully settled in her career. She says she did not want to be an actress.
After she got divorced from her second husband in 1979, she realized that marriage was not for her. She never remarried, is not dating, and maintains that she is happily single.
She says family and friends surround her, and that is enough for her. Asked why she retired at the prime of her career, she says:
"My passion in life is speaking to women’s groups about things I’ve learned. I’ve had such an extraordinary life and I’m so fulfilled in so many ways with my life, every part of it, I have no regrets.”
In 1983, Evans, after being a health and fitness enthusiast for years, published her first book "Linda Evans Beauty and Exercise."
In 2011, she published her second book, "Recipes for Life - My Memories" in which she shares her wisdom and the life lessons she's learned over the years, as well as her favorite recipes.
Her achievements include five People's Choice Awards, a Golden Globe Award, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She also has a remarkable presence on Instagram and Facebook.
