Woman in Tears Tells Priest Her Husband Died - Daily Joke

It was a sunny Sunday morning in mid-summer, and the birds were chirping on the trees. The church garden was filled with an air of serenity, and the priest was taking a walk outside, whiling away the time before the Sunday service.

Soon, people started entering the church vicinity, greeting the priest warmly and paying their respects. There was a huge crowd of regular churchgoers, and everyone was enthusiastic to sing praises to God and listen to the holy sermon.

"Good Morning, Father. I loved today's sermon," said Mary. Her husband also smiled and nodded his head.

"Good Morning, Mary. Thank you, my child. May God bless you," replied the priest.

Mary was one of the regular church parishioners and often attended church service with her husband. Nearly every Sunday, she came to personally meet the priest, discussing problems in her personal and professional life.

Mary and her husband were a lovely couple, but lately, their married life had hit rock bottom. The couple had been married for ten years, but since the past year, they were experiencing unresolvable issues and would often argue on trivial matters.

Two Sundays passed, and neither Mary nor her husband showed up. The priest knew the couple personally and became worried when he didn't hear from them for two weeks.

He prayed to God to guide them in the right direction and waited until Mary paid him a visit on the third Sunday. When the priest saw her, she was sobbing uncontrollably. He became worried and told her to sit down.

"What happened, my child?" asked the priest.

"Oh, father, I don't even know how to tell you," said Mary, still crying. She wiped the tears off her face, cleared her voice a little, and continued. "Last evening, my husband died."

"Oh, that's terrible. I was so worried when I didn't see you at church for two weeks. Did your husband have any last wishes?" asked the priest.

"Yes, he did," replied Mary.

"What did he say?" asked the priest.

"I beg of you, Mary. Put down the gun!"
