Jojo Siwa Makes DWTS History as First Contestant Paired with Same-Sex Dance Partner

YouTube star Jojo Siwa has joined DWTS with a history-making start. Siwa has been announced as the first celebrity contestant paired with a same-sex dance partner on the show.

Jojo Siwa came into the spotlight during her time on "Dance Moms," she is a singer with an incredible huge following on social media. The 18-year-old was named in Time's 2020 list of 100 most influential people.

Siwa was announced as one of the first two contestants alongside Suni Lee, appearing on the 30th season of "Dancing With The stars." Siwa's participation in the show comes with a history-making start.

SIWA MAKES HISTORY

The Electropop singer took to her Instagram page, where she shared the history-making news with a screenshot from an article that spelled out her latest achievement in bold print. The page also included a photo of her.

In the image, Siwa, who seemed to have been performing on stage, rocked rainbow-themed hair and showcased a part of her face that was colorfully painted with star-shaped face paint. The excited singer captioned the post with a red heart emoji and a rainbow emoji.

Siwa is in a lovely relationship with a Florida teenager called Kylie Prew.

On Thursday, ABC made the announcement during the Television Critics Association panel. The YouTube star is set to be the first female celebrity to have a same-sex dance partner. Season 30 of DWTS is set to premiere on September 20.

Lee and Siwa are scheduled to appear on GMA for an interview ahead of the season's commencement. By September 8, there will be another sit-down when the rest of the DWTS celebrity competitors would be announced.

Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, Bruno Tonioli, and Len Goodman would return as judges while Tyra Banks maintains her position as host. Banks recently hinted at a possible return of the live audience.

SIWA'S COMING-OUT STORY

Siwa first alluded to her sexuality to the public on her TikTok account of over 30 million followers. The music star shared a video of herself dancing to Lady Gaga's "Born This Way," which has been tagged the LGTBQ anthem.

The 18-year-old garnered over 4.5 million likes and over 25 million views. The next day the "Dance Moms" star posted another photo, and this time, a more definitive one. In the snapshot, she wore a shirt that affirmed her sexuality.

She received encouragement from media stars like James Charles, Bretman Rock, and Colleen Ballinger. Lil Nas X also showed his support. More stars like Paris Hilton and Luke Eisner were part of her Siwa's admirers.

WHO IS SIWA'S GIRLFRIEND?

Siwa is in a lovely relationship with a Florida teenager called Kylie Prew. Once on "The Jimmy Fallon Show," Siwa glossed over her girlfriend and shared lovely words about her.

The "Kid in a Candy Store" singer, who initially kept her girlfriend's identity private, made it known that it felt good to be out of the closet. She noted that her heart was happy.
