Marie Claire: Nicole Kidman on Her One Regret in Life While Estranged from Her Older Children
Nicole Kidman has had it all, from starring in hit movies to bagging some of the most enviable accolades in the industry. There's one thing, though, that she wishes she'd done differently.
Nicole Kidman is a household name, and her movies have seen her take home some of the most desired awards, including a British Academy Film Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, two Primetime Emmy Awards, and five Golden Globe Award.
Her success over the years has, however, only magnified her one life regret - not having more children. The mother of four says had it been possible, she would have had a family of ten kids.

Kidman was married to ex-husband Tom Cruise for eleven years between 1990 and 2001, and it was during this time that she suffered an ectopic pregnancy followed by a miscarriage. She was told she was unlikely to conceive.
This broke the actress' heart seeing as she always wanted a big family. She, together with Cruise, went on to adopt two children, Isabella, 28, and Connor, 26.
Despite wanting more, she did not miss out on being a mother entirely. She is a present force in many children's lives. She says:
"I have six nieces and nephews and I’m godmother to 12. I love mothering, I love kids - they’re quirky, funny, and unfiltered."
Her relationship with her two elder kids has not, however, been all rosy. The actress, who shares two more kids with her current husband, Keith Urban, has been estranged from her children for a long time now.
Kidman opened up about her elder kids' childhood saying they spent most of their time living in a trailer, as the former couple, who starred in the "Eyes Wide Shut," shot the movie.
She says they shot the movie for two years, and their go-to food was always spaghetti. When their parents were not shooting movies, Isabella and Connor spent most of their time in London.
Isabella, who Kidman says has always felt more British than American, lives in London.
Now, as adults, the two don't seem to share a relationship with their mother. Even though she never speaks of the reasons behind the estrangement, it has been reported that the family cut her off for opting out of the Church of Scientology.
Cruise and his two children are staunch believers of the church. Kidman has spoken before about her thoughts about her kids attending the church saying she supports their choices.
The Aquaman actress, however, denies the claims saying that, more than anything, a child needs their mother's love. And whatever decisions they made with their life, she would always love them. She added on the matter:
"They have made choices to be Scientologists. It’s our job as a parent to always offer unconditional love."
When Isabella married her husband Max Parker in 2015, not only was Kidman not invited, she also did not know her daughter was getting married. This puts into perspective just how much of a distance there is between mother and daughter.
She, however, was ecstatic that her daughter had found love and wished her well. Isabella, who Kidman says has always felt more British than American, lives in London.
Connor, on the other hand, lives in Florida and is a fisherman, and despite keeping a low profile on social media, he will often share a photo on a boat out in the sea.
