Duff recently uploaded on Instagram an exciting photo featuring herself inside a busy bar, sitting at a table with food. She appeared as if she was waiting for someone to arrive. Duff wrote in the caption:

"Hello, I'm Sophie. 🙋🏼‍♀️"

Several fans and Duff's celebrity friends quickly commented on the latter's post. Actors Dan Amboyer and Mandy Moore immediately congratulated the "So Yesterday" hitmaker on her new show.

Like the celebrities, many followers noted that "How I Met Your Father" will be the next TV show they will surely binge on. A fan expressed happiness about finally getting to watch Duff in another show.

Last month, the singer-songwriter revealed she contracted the Delta variant of COVID-19, despite being vaccinated.

Duff previously starred in the critically- acclaimed TV Land series "Younger," which ended June 2021 after seven seasons. She starred with actors Sutton Foster, Nico Tortorella, and Debbie Mazar.

Record producer Matthew Koma, Duff's husband, earlier paid a sweet tribute for the "A Cinderella Story" actress on the first day she worked on the set of "How I Met Your Father." The couple has been married since 2019.

Duff and her 34-year-old husband share two children Banks Violet, 2, and five-month-old Mae James. Duff is also mother to Luca Cruz, her nine-year-old son with ex-husband Mike Comrie.

As the name of the show suggests, Duff's character will tell her son the story of how she met his father. In addition to that, the "HIMYF" series revolves around her close friends dealing with the existential crisis of adulthood.

Stars Chris Lowell, Francia Raisa, Tom Ainsley, Tien Tran, and Suraj Sharma - who will play as Duff's on-screen friends - will add fun and humor to the TV show, a spin-off series of the iconic "How I Met Your Mother."

Duff's update seems to be proof that she is now out and about. Last month, the singer-songwriter revealed she contracted the Delta variant of COVID-19, despite being vaccinated.

She also experienced a COVID-19 scare earlier in the pandemic. Duff shared in November 2020 that she quarantined herself after being exposed to the virus while working on the show "Younger."
