Eric Johnson turned 42 on Wednesday, and his wife, Jessica Simpson, 41, couldn’t let the day go by without celebrating him publicly. Taking to her Instagram account, the star shared a gorgeous family photo.

The image showed Johnson and Simpson snuggling closely with their three children: son Ace Knute, 8, and daughters Maxwell Drew, 9, and Birdie Mae, 2. The singer included a lengthy caption honoring her husband.

Simpson noted how God had created the former National Football League (NFL) star to be her “truest companion,” her purest love, her forever person, and her “all in everything.”

She called Johnson her answered prayer long before she even knew the words to express that. The actress called the former athlete the gift of life and the one who brought her purpose.

She confessed that she was born to love him and shared how she’d asked God for him when she was a child. Simpson vowed that they would live in each other’s souls for eternity.

She also noted how Johnson’s birthday was a gift to the world and concluded her loving post by revealing how she and their three children loved the birthday boy.

Simpson also took to her Instagram Story to share more images of her husband and family to commemorate the day. The athlete also posed with their children and doughnuts that read “Happy Birthday, Dad.”

The couple first met on May 21, 2010, when Johnson got an invite to Simpson’s house party from a mutual friend. The duo ended up getting married a few years later, on July 5, 2014, in Montecito, California.

Last week, Simpson revealed how her children were growing up so fast. In an Instagram post featuring her, her husband, and their youngest daughter, the star explained how the little girl demanded to go to school!

On September 8, 2021, Birdie Mae had her first day of pre-school after insisting she wanted to start her education. The singer said the toddler politely asked to be sent off to school, leaving her mother shocked.

The photo shared by Simpson showed Birdie Mae cradled in her father’s arms while wearing a backpack on her shoulders. The toddler’s family tried to dissuade her from wanting to go to school, but she wouldn’t hear it!

Birdie Mae informed her family that she wasn’t a baby anymore and was ready for the next step. Although the change was an emotional one for Simpson and Johnson, it also left them feeling happy.
