Nicole Richie shared an alarming clip from her 40th birthday celebrations on Instagram, which had fans and friends worried. However, it seems like everything turned out fine.
Nicole Richie celebrated her 40th birthday on September 21 and took to Instagram to share a glimpse into her celebrations. However, the video showed a very hair-raising moment.
The video saw the reality star leaning over her birthday cake, which featured a picture of herself, to blow the candles out, when suddenly the tips of her blond curly hair were set alight.
Richie let out a loud and appropriate scream then a hand of a friend off-camera attempted to put out the flames. But it only increased so Richie moved to the side, and then the video was cut off.
The video did not show the aftermath of the flames. However, everything seems okay as Richie shared the moment on Instagram and made light of the situation in the caption writing:
"Well… so far 40 is 🔥"
While fans and friends were shocked by the video, Kelly Rowland remarked that her heart dropped. Richie's close loved ones, including her husband Joel Madden, continued the jokes in the comment section.
Madden commented with the famous catchphrase of Richie's "The Simple Life" co-star Paris Hilton, writing that the moment was hot. A few other fans and friends said the same early 2000s phrase.
Richie celebrated her brand, House of Harlow 1960's newest collection's fashion show during Fall Fashion Week.
Before Richie's alarming moment with fire, the House of Harlow fashion designer celebrated her big day with her loved ones online. Her husband also shared a heartfelt tribute for her on his Instagram page.
Madden posted several photos from throughout their relationship, including an adorable black and white of Richie on his shoulders. He captioned the pictures with a sweet birthday greeting:

She said she had to learn to pause and listen to her family. The mother of two explained that the family usually loves being in nature and had to make an effort to go outside and enjoy nature.
Besides celebrating the relaxing on COVID-19 restrictions and her 40th birthday, Richie celebrated her brand, House of Harlow 1960's newest collection's fashion show during Fall Fashion Week.
