56-year-old J.D. McCabe spent seventeen years happily married to his wife, Erin McCabe. However, he realized a little too late that their marriage was not as blissful as he once thought.

McCabe recalled that he began noticing changes in his marriage when his wife became hostile towards him. She incessantly accused him of infidelity, substance abuse issues, and a possible mental illness.

Despite her irrational behavior, McCabe remained patient with Erin, dismissing her episodes as due to her autoimmune illness. To better deal with the situation, the man decided to embrace a new fitness routine involving weight-lifting and the use of protein powder.

Weeks later, he experienced extreme weight loss, which he attributed to his new routine. However, his colleagues believed the loss of 30 pounds in the space of six weeks pointed to an illness like cancer.

McCabe thought nothing of their suspicions since he knew he engaged in a vigorous fitness routine unknown to them. Around that time, he began experiencing strange symptoms of an underlying illness that proved difficult to diagnose.

In the months that followed, he suffered gastrointestinal distress, joint pain, difficulty swallowing, and an alarming weight loss of more than seventy pounds.

Finally, his marriage to Erin crumbled completely, and the duo separated, with him moving out of their once-matrimonial home.

Losing his home proved a blessing in disguise, as the extent of his declining health decreased drastically. The surprising turn led to suspicions that Erin might have been poisoning him all along.

The blood test showed abnormal results, while his liver function tests showed high enzyme levels. When tests for leukemia, Lou Gehrig's, early onset of Parkinson's, and other possible ailments with related symptoms returned positive, his sister-in-law concluded his wife had been poisoning him.

Eventually, hair and fingernails tests conducted by a doctor returned results suggesting high arsenic exposure. He realized then that Erin had been trying to kill him by mixing arsenic in his protein powder.

In his TikTok videos, McCabe recounts his dreadful marital experiences with Erin and how he barely escaped with his life.

In one of the videos, he revealed how she actualized her plan to annihilate him by mixing arsenic into his protein powder. The allegation had many asking why Erin was not in jail since he was convinced she tried to kill him.

In response, McCabe explained that by the time he realized the truth, they were already separated for about a year, and the protein powder containing the arsenic was all gone. That left him with no physical evidence.

The man is positive that although justice can't be served due to lack of evidence, Erin was subject to a fate worse than jail. He wrote:

"She may not be in jail, but perhaps she is in her own emotional prison."

He now focuses on sharing his story with the world through his book titled "The Third Gift: My Dance With The Devil (And Her Mother)" and numerous TikTok videos.
