Jason Derulo and Jena Frumes have recently called it quits just 4 months after welcoming their son to the world, and one day after celebrating their birthdays together.

The news was shared by the singer, who took to his official Twitter account to let the world know that he and the model are no longer an item and that it was a joint decision.

According to Derulo, they decided to part ways because they feel it will allow them to "be the best versions" of themselves and the best parents they can be.

The "Take You Dancing" singer also praised the 28-year-old by describing her as an "amazing mother" and asked fans to please respect their privacy during this time.

They opted to keep their son's face hidden away from the public eye.

SHORT-LIVED HAPPINESS

As aforementioned, prior to their split, the former couple celebrated their shared birthday in Aspen, Colorado, and the model was quick to share a sweet post about it on Instagram.

However, she was just as quick deleting it as she was posting it following the breakup. Still, the post was up for quite a few hours and fans were able to see her sweet tribute to Derulo.

In the post, Frumes claimed to be blessed to share the same day of birth as her lover, calling him the most "handsome, hardworking, talented, silly, loving human ever."

She also said he made her whole and she was grateful for the love they shared, adding that he and their "mini" made her the happiest woman in the world.

Frumes ended her tribute by describing herself as a "tough cookie" but that Derulo made her soft for accepting her the way she was and that she would be "forever grateful for that."

Although she wrote that she couldn't wait to make more memories with him and their little bundle of joy, the truth is that their romance didn't last long, but the reason why it ended is still unclear.

Frumes explained that her baby is brand new to the world and she refuses to let the negative energy of social media have any impact on her family's energy.
