Michael Clarke Duncan AKA John Coffey of ‘the Green Mile’ Planned to Marry before He Untimely Died in 2012 – Meet His Fiancée
Michael Clarke Duncan's role in "The Green Mile" earned him a spot on the nomination list for a prestigious award in the 90s. Sadly, he died at age 54, when he planned to begin a family with his fiancée. Meet his last lover.
Michael Clarke Duncan wowed movie lovers with his role in 1999's "The Green Mile." Born in Chicago, he dropped out of Alcorn State University in Mississippi, where he majored in Communications.
After leaving school, the Chicago native resumed a new job at Peoples Gas, where he dug ditches. The actor always had a keen interest in the movie world but did not have the opportunity to explore until he was in his 20s.

At work, his coworkers made fun of him because of his dreams of becoming a movie star. By 1990, the young man decided to change his location and follow his dreams. He moved to Los Angeles, where he took up the job of a bodyguard.
During his time on the job, he earned a role in a commercial to feature as a drill sergeant. A series of other insignificant roles in television made their way to Duncan's plate owing to his build rather than his talent.

It was not until 1998 that he cupped a major role in "Armageddon." He gained love from the movie crew for his warm personality and infectious laughter.
It was also the beginning of his friendship with his co-star, Bruce Willis, who would later put in word for his friend to get a role in "The Green Mile," which became his career-defining moment.
Duncan's acting in the Oscar-nominated production was outstanding, fans loved him, and movie critics spoke highly about his performance.

The actor's impact on fans, other movie stars, and directors was overwhelming. Sadly, at age 54, he was still active in the game but did not live past that year to continue his legacy.
This was when he had planned to settle down with his much younger fiancée, reality TV star Omarosa Manigault. The lovers would have exchanged their vows in January 2013, but Manigault ended up planning a funeral.

PLANS BEFORE HIS UNTIMELY DEATH
Duncan wanted a lifetime with Manigault and their future kids but could not accomplish these plans before drawing his last breath. He passed away in 2012 at Cedar-Sinai Medical Center.
The actor had checked into the hospital a few months before his death, after suffering a heart attack, but never fully recovered from the illness.

A PERFECT ROMANCE
Omarosa Manigault was the woman after the actor's heart. They were an adorable couple who appeared happy in public and on red-carpet events. While many saw their romance as one out of a fairytale book, Manigault admitted it was a genuine relationship nurtured by real love.
She said Duncan asked for her number at a store after following her around and courted her the old fashion way—sending flowers and cooking meals for her.

During her interview on Oprah Winfrey's Network, she gushed about his incredible features, adding that he rebranded her. According to her:
"He was a man on a mission, he knew what he needed to do to make me his… He saw the essence of who I was. He just looked past the madness, persona...He brought out the best in me."
The couple dated for three years before the actor decided to propose. However, after the proposal, their lives changed entirely. Duncan suffered a heart attack, with Manigault by his side to provide help through CPR, and subsequently, support through constant prayers.

Sadly, after two months, he passed away, leaving his fiancée with a bleeding heart. While describing the pain, she said:
"My heart was broken in undescribable pain and sadness, grief...he was my everything, I just miss him so much."
Despite missing her prince charming, the reality TV star has not relented in her quest to make Duncan proud by forging ahead with charitable deeds involving the deceased's charity.
She added that it was a bit hard to move past the pain, but by continuing his good works, cherishing his memories, and showing love to her dogs—Duncan was a great animal lover, she is better off.
WHAT ENSUED AFTER HIS DEATH?
Manigault wrote a book that encapsulated her time with Duncan, his family, and his death. This did not go down well with the Duncans, as they were presented as opportunists ready to tear down his fortune in the book.
The actor's will left almost everything to his fiancée, and Judy Duncan, his sister, claimed the reality TV star manipulated her brother into editing the will.
She said she saw her brother during his last days and that he was not of sound mind and could have been easily persuaded to do anything.
That was not the only allegation; Judy added that the book was published without their consent and that some information was false. She claimed her brother's lover used his death to elevate herself and only popped up topics surrounding the family to gain relevance.
Manigault replied by accusing Judy of trying to get money from her via texts and emails, adding that while grieving, she had to handle a flock of Duncan's family and associates who sprung up after his death, demanding inheritance.
Meanwhile, Duncan's niece explained that the media was hungry for their family's perspective on things but that they did not need much attention and decided to stay away from Manigault.
Duncan's niece confessed the onscreen goddess advised them to keep his health crisis a secret so as not to mess up any business deals or contracts. She even restricted visitors from seeing him at the hospital.

Despite the continuous drama and apparent hatred, both sides have admitted that they miss Duncan and that his untimely death was painful.
For fans and friends, the actor continues to be the loveable huge guy with infectious politeness. Duncan may be dead but lives on in the hearts of many.
