Meteorologist Dylan Dreyer welcomed her third child with her husband Brian Fichera on Wednesday morning, a few days after the couple shared an important pregnancy update on Instagram.

The proud mother shared two candid selfies from the hospital, including one of herself and one with her husband. Alongside the snaps, she told fans she would be missing from "Today" as her baby was coming six weeks early.
Dreyer lovingly joked about her latest son's arrival and wrote that his premature birth was because he did not want to miss out on the fun his two brothers, Calvin and Oliver, were having. She finished off her update with:
"Guess he couldn’t handle being left out of all the fun his brothers have been having! We’ll gladly take any extra prayers you have 🙏🙏❤️❤️"

Similarly, Fichera shared a photo of the pair's time in the hospital to update his followers on what was happening. He posted a black and white photo of Dreyer lying in the hospital bed covered in blankets.
In addition to the photo, Fichera wrote that trading a few sleepless nights on a hospital pull-out bed was worth knowing that everyone was safe and healthy when it came time to delivering their baby.
Besides being born six weeks early, there is another reason why Russell's birth was remarkable.
Fichera then addressed his newborn son and said that if he were half of who his mother was, in the ways of her courage and toughness, he would be an extraordinary person.
A few days after the couple's pregnancy updates, "Today" reported that their son, Russel James Fichera, was born weighing five pounds, five ounces, and measuring 18 inches.
The new baby has a very significant and family-orientated name as his first name, Russell, is from Fichera's father, and his second name, James, is after Dreyer's father.
Besides being born six weeks early, there is another reason why Russell's birth was remarkable for his parents. Dreyer has openly spoken about her struggles with secondary infertility following the birth of her oldest son, Calvin.
Secondary infertility is when a couple struggles to fall pregnant after a past pregnancy. Furthermore, in 2019, Dreyer experienced a miscarriage before welcoming her second son, Oliver.
Dreyer revealed they tried for six months without success when she and Fichera first decided to have a third child. However, after a doctor advised them not to focus on getting pregnant so much, they finally did.
