Adele Claims She 'Wasn't Happy' While Married to Simon Konecki

Adele will be on the cover of Vogue's November issue and, during an interview with the magazine, she opened up about her relationship with Simon Konecki.

The couple called it quits after being married for 2 years, and she revealed that none of them did anything wrong or hurt each other in any way.

According to Adele, she decided to divorce Konecki because she was not happy with him and because she wanted their son, 9-year-old Angelo, to see her love and be loved.

AN UNEXPECTED CONSEQUENCE

However, her move didn't turn out the way she expected because Angelo was very affected by their split, which they chose to keep away from the public eye.

They live near each other and even host family movie nights quite often.

Adele, who has been having a hard time dealing with the fact that the divorce had an impact on her little boy, recalled the moment her whole life fell apart:

"He said to my face, 'Can you see me?' And I was like, 'Uh, yeah.' And he was like, 'Cause I can't see you.' Well, my whole life fell apart in that moment. He knew I wasn't there."

FOLLOWING HER HEART

The 33-year-old shared that she left Konecki in pursuit of her own happiness, even though it caused her child to be unhappy, but she believes she can fix it.

Adele stated that, if she manages to search and find the happiness she seeks, then Angelo will finally be able to see her experiencing that happiness and she might forgive herself.

When asked if her upcoming LP is a "divorce album," in connection to her split, the singer said it is more focused on divorcing herself in the sense that she is getting herself together. She added:

"I realized that I was the problem. Cause all the other albums are like, 'You did this! You did that!' [...] Then I was like: 'Oh, I'm the running theme, actually. Maybe it's me!'"

STILL A FAMILY

Despite being separated, Adele claimed she and Konecki are still in contact. Not only that, they live near each other and even host family movie nights quite often.

Adele and Konecki, a charity magnate, started dating in April and put an end to their marriage after 2 years. Although the divorce process started in 2019, only now have they been able to reach an agreement.
