Jamie Foxx Once Asked Snoop Dogg to Intimidate His Daughter’s New Boyfriend

As many fathers have often confessed, their daughters' growing up is one of the most stressful points of their lives. And it sometimes takes a little intimidation to keep their little girls safe.

Jamie Foxx's looming protective figure over his daughter's every move and his attempts at intimidating her love interests would see him win the medal for the world's most protective dad.

As embarrassing as it is for the daughters in question, it is a strict measure to ensure their girls are not taken advantage of by their love interests.

INTIMIDATING HER DAUGHTER'S BOYFRIEND

When Foxx's daughter, Corinne, invited her boyfriend over, the actor already had a plan in mind of how he would handle the situation and ensure his daughter's date was aware of what he was getting himself into.

While speaking on "The Tonight Show" with Jimmy Fallon, the "Django Unchained" actor says he was at home with the Rapper Snoop Dogg and several other friends when his daughter's date came to visit.

He says even before the young lad came over, and unbeknownst to his daughter, he had already run a background check on him. And so, when he showed up at the door, he had his friend Snoop shake him a bit.

Foxx admits that he had Snoop walk up to the young man and intimidate him, telling him to act accordingly, else he would have to face the "uncles." From the outside, it would seem like a mere act of scaring a boy away, but Foxx added:

“The underlying meaning of it is that I wanted the young man to understand that she’s got people who really love her, so that if something does go wrong, Snoop is coming.”

While he did not mention which daughter he was talking about, it is almost guaranteed that he spoke about his daughter Corinne. Corinne is the oldest of Foxx's two daughters, followed by Annalise, 13.

FOLLOWING IN HER FATHER'S FOOTSTEPS

In more ways than one, Corinne has followed in her dad's footsteps and is quickly defining her path in the entertainment industry.

In addition to modeling, she is a producer and actor who has worked with Foxx on several occasions. Projects they've collaborated on include, but are not limited to, the sitcom "Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!" as well as "The Jamie Foxx Show."

She has also co-hosted alongside her father on his musical game show "Beat Shazam." The now 27-year-old shares a special bond with her dad, and the two can be spotted attending events together.

Foxx's intimidation stint is only one way of ensuring that his daughters are well protected from the uncertainties of the dating world. This would be expected of any father bringing up daughters in the unforgiving world we live in today.

In his book, "Act Like You Got Some Sense: And Other Things My Daughters Taught Me," Foxx opens up about the struggles he has faced raising a family and building a career at the same time.

Balancing between the glam cars, the lavish trips, and parties and raising a family, Foxx has experienced it all. Yet his most uncertain moments remain when he did not know the best way to raise his young daughter.

THE MOMENT THAT CHANGED FOXX'S PARENTING

Foxx opened up about an eye-opening situation that forever changed the kind of parent he would become to his daughters later in life. Today, he is close to his daughters, but it wasn't always that way.

Their undeniable bond did not come easy, and it took the trio lots of effort to strike a balance and get to where they are. In Foxx's own words, he had his first daughter when he started at comedy clubs.

Consequently, he would be gone from home for days on end, and when he would return, it would be in the ungodly hours. To compensate for his absence, he would take his daughter to Disneyland.

[Corinne] noted that one of the most embarrassing moments was when her dad showed up at her boyfriend's door with his friends to threaten and intimidate him.

What he did not realize at the time was that his daughter did not fancy all the magical, fantastical dreams of Disneyland but instead craved her father's time and attention.

The situation between the father and daughter had gotten so bad that she wanted to see a therapist. The duo went in together, and while there, Corinne opened up about her father never making time for her.

That session with the therapist became a game-changer for Foxx. He began making time for his daughter, even bringing her to the set, which worked better than he had anticipated. It created time for them to spend together and, in the process, spiked Corinne's interest in film.

He also opened up about his daughter's separate personalities, explaining that one is inclined towards the glitz and glamour of Hollywood while the other hates the limelight.

He says he has had to learn how to sharpen his parenting skills and delegate and regulate differently, based on their different personalities.

The "Ray" actor has since created a special bond with his daughters and brought them up, letting them know they can always talk to him about anything. Furthermore, they always have his support no matter what they are going through.

EMBARRASSING HIS DAUGHTERS

However, their relationship has not all been rosy, and comically, Corinne opened up about how her dad always embarrasses her. There were so many embarrassing stories that the two decided to make a show out of it.

Speaking to Etonline, Corinne recalled all the moments during her teenage years when her dad would do all sorts of embarrassing things, saying:

"Yes, my dad is cool, but he also embarrassed me a lot through my teenagehood. So we basically wrote a show about it."

She noted that one of the most embarrassing moments was when her dad showed up at her boyfriend's door with his friends to threaten and intimidate him. She remembers this as just one of the many times she was embarrassed by her dad's over-the-top stints.

Thankfully, it all ended up well because they made a killer show as a result. Despite their tough beginning, Foxx continues to be a hands-on dad to his two amazing girls.
