Adorable Moment Teachers Address Dating Rumors about Them in Front of Their Class
Jason Seifert admitted to dating his fellow fifth-grade teacher Ally Barker in front of all their students. The sweet moment was captured on video and immediately went viral.
Jason Seifert had been a teacher at Harry Russell Elementary for 17 years while Aly Barker for two. Initially, they began as best friends but later evolved into a romantic relationship.
Working together and teaching the same students made it easy for speculation about them dating to spread. However, the rumor was never confirmed nor denied.

“Some [said] they were snooping on Facebook and saw that we were in a relationship. There would be a brave kid that would make comments like ‘I heard you and Miss Barker were dating,’” Seifert shared.
Finally, the day came when Seifert satisfied the curious minds of his students. On February 14, 2017, he stood before his students and told them the truth.
Seifert deemed it appropriate to propose in school as it was the place that brought them together.

He asked if they had come across the rumor about their relationship, to which everyone raised their hands. “The answer is yes, we are dating,” Seifert admitted.
Students screamed in excitement and took a while to settle down, but as soon as the teacher added, “And, we are a little bit more than dating because I am completely in love with her,” they went wild again.
However, everyone in the room least expected what Seifert would do next. He told his students, “I was wondering if Miss Barker would like to become Mrs. Seifert.”

He then looked at Barker, got on one knee, and took out a ring. Everyone immediately celebrated and screamed in happiness for the newly engaged couple.
Seifert deemed it appropriate to propose in school as it was the place that brought them together. Before his proposal, of course, he got the approval of the principal. Barker found the setting quite special as well. She said:
“Teaching is a really hard job and it’s really overwhelming, but we love our kids. We see them more than we see our own kids, and to keep them involved in that, it was really special.”

At that time, Seifert was a father to two teenagers while Barker had a five-year-old, both from previous relationships.
It has been four years since Seifert mustered the courage to propose to his girlfriend, Barker, in front of their fifth-grade students. Still, their proposal video continues to warm the hearts of viewers.
Sadly, not all marriage proposals have a happy ending. Previously, a man chose to go on one knee and ask for his girlfriend’s hand in marriage during a Polar Park baseball game.
It turned out that she wasn’t ready and ran off into the crowd. Such a story makes one think twice about where and when the proper proposal should be.
