Miracles happen every day, but people least expect to experience it right in front of their eyes. So when Stephen Parker’s son J.T. did the impossible to save his dad, there was no other way to see it but as a miracle.

J.T., 8, and his brother Mason, 17, were fixing a Toyota Prius with their dad Stephen in the backyard of their home. The three boys tried to pull the engine out of the car and got it jacked up.

The activity caused Mason a cut on his hand, so he returned to their home to treat it. Meanwhile, Stephen went under the car to remove the axles, of which one quickly came off.

While adjusting the other axle, the Toyota Prius suddenly fell on him, pinning Stephen to the ground. With only J.T. with him, Stephen yelled for him to “Jack it up quick!” He recalled what happened:

“I was totally trapped, and then I passed out. [...] I thought, ‘This is it. There’s no way he can jack up this car because it took my 17-year-old son and I both to jack it up the first time.”

After 15 minutes of continuously jumping on the jack handle, the 50-pound boy did the impossible and raised the car off of his dad.

In 2017, shortly after the incident, J.T. became one of the American Red Cross of Greater Idaho’s “East Idaho Real Heroes.”

As soon as the car was up, J.T. ran to his brother to call 911. Meanwhile, Stephen tried hard to breathe but could barely do so. “All I remember is I felt peace,” he shared. “I remember seeing white, like a nice happy day.”

A medical helicopter soon arrived and brought Stephen to East Idaho Regional Medical Center, where he was in critical condition. After several tests, the doctors found 13 broken ribs and nothing more.

After two days, Stephen was sent home safely. Still, it remained a mystery how their little boy was able to jack the heavy car up. When J.T. tried to lift it again, nothing happened.

J.T. claims that his strength at that time came from angels. Stephen added, “We believe my grandpa who passed on, and my sister who died were helping him.”

Similarly, Stephen’s wife Jodi believes that the whole thing was a miracle and nothing less. “There’s no other way to describe it,” she said. “There’s no way that little boy could have done that.”

Miracles are life’s blessing, and to experience one would truly be life-changing. Like Stephen, Joanna Jonathan was among those who experienced the impossible when she conceived and birthed a child while suffering from stage four lung cancer.

According to Jonathan, she is the first woman with such cancer severity to give birth in the UK. Her story has since inspired many to stay strong and keep a positive mindset despite difficult circumstances.
