The post's caption was short and bittersweet. It read: "My grandfather passed away today. Last night all he wanted to do was to have one last beer with his sons." This simple yet meaningful image resonated with many.

Schemm's grandfather was featured in the photo as he lay in his hospital bed after a long battle with cancer. He was sickly and had pipes wrapped around him. However, the look of joy and contentment on his face was priceless.

“My grandpa had been relatively healthy over the course of his life but it was on Sunday last week while he was in the hospital that they realized it would be the end."

Schemm stated that his grandfather contacted all of his children and grandchildren to visit before he died due to stage four colon cancer.
