A heartwarming photo of a man and his family went viral on Twitter. In the picture, the elderly man lay in a hospital bed and is nearing the end of his life. Despite this, he has a smile on his face and a beer in his hand. 

In 2019, a grandson from Milwaukee decided to share his grandfather's final moments online. The young man didn't anticipate the overwhelming reaction from netizens worldwide, but his post quickly went viral.

With close to 30 thousand shares and over 300 thousand likes, people loved the show of affection. In the photo, Adam Schemm displayed an emotional moment in his family's life.

THE BITTERSWEET POST

The post's caption was short and bittersweet. It read: "My grandfather passed away today. Last night all he wanted to do was to have one last beer with his sons." This simple yet meaningful image resonated with many. 

Schemm's grandfather was featured in the photo as he lay in his hospital bed after a long battle with cancer. He was sickly and had pipes wrapped around him. However, the look of joy and contentment on his face was priceless.

THE END OF HIS LIFE

Knowing that he would be passing away shortly, he asked his family to have one last beer with him. His wife holds his hand, and his sons and grandsons surround him in what was undoubtedly a memorable day. 

Schemm shared more about his grandfather's condition and explained

“My grandpa had been relatively healthy over the course of his life but it was on Sunday last week while he was in the hospital that they realized it would be the end."

Schemm stated that his grandfather contacted all of his children and grandchildren to visit before he died due to stage four colon cancer. 

Users from the online community were touched, and many were moved to tears. The family found comfort in knowing that the patriarch of their clan was spreading love online even after he was gone.
