Amazon Driver Postpones Work Duty to Bring a Grandma with Advanced Dementia, 92, Home
When a woman who is over 90 years old got lost, a kind Amazon driver found her and decided to help. The elderly citizen has Dementia and could not find her way back home.
Alzheimer's renders people forgetful, and often, they end up in dangerous situations—lost and alone. 92-year-old Gigi, who has an advanced stage of the disease, wandered out of her home last month.
Without a memory of where she lived and where she was going, the older woman was an easy target for a potential road accident or even assault. Fortunately, a kind-hearted man saw her and jumped into action.

A SPECIAL DELIVERY
Recorded via a doorbell camera, Gigi was spotted leaving her house and walking directionless down the road. A later clip from the same camera reveals what happened next. A stranger dropped off Gigi.
The caring man was used to making deliveries, but he had never made one like this before. As a driver for Amazon, he often leaves parcels at people's doors. However, this time he had an extra-special delivery.
SHE NEEDED HELP
As the woman walked around Franklin Park, New Jersey, driver Wilmar noticed her and realized she looked lost. He pulled up alongside her and tried to help. When he figured out that she needed some urgent assistance, he did not hesitate.
Wilmar shared that the woman waved at him as he drove by her. He added:
"She was waving at me like something happened. I noticed how she had this wristband on. And it had her name and her information, as well as who to contact."

DROPPED HER OFF AT HOME
Thanks to Gigi's medical alert bracelet, Wilmar contacted the woman's daughter, Karen. The woman gave Wilmar her home address, and he could drop her off and deliver her inside safely. The moment of Gigi's return was special.
While there was no applause or emotional reaction, Wilmar's actions spoke for themselves and touched many hearts. In the clip shared on YouTube, the driver carefully helps the elderly woman out of the delivery vehicle.

DRIVER WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND
The man then walked, hand in hand with Gigi, to the front door. The senior citizen was safe and sound thanks to the kindness of a stranger. The woman's daughter said Wilmar "went above and beyond."
The daughter added: "We have that type of a great close-knit community here, that if there's something that a driver's going to spot, that's out of line, he's going to say, 'I'm going to make sure that my customers are taken care of."

THE ONLINE COMMENTS
Both of Karen's parents have Dementia, and because of this, she uses various technological tools to help her. One of the gadgets is her Ring door camera. This camera allowed the Amazon driver's actions to be recorded and shared with the world.
Netizens praised him for his kindness. One user wrote: "Aww, how he was holding her hand." Another said: "The way he lowers her out of the van is so precious." People encouraged others to follow Wilmar's example so that the world could be a better place.
