Country music icon Alan Jackson is proud of his three responsible daughters, and they feel blessed to have him as their father. He gives everything so they can have everything.

Born in October 1958, Alan Jackson's steady rise in the country music scene began in the early 1980s. He won over millions of fans with his traditional country musical style and is now one of the best-selling music artists in history.

Jackson's love life has been as successful as his career. He has been married to his high school sweetheart for over four decades, and they share three daughters who have nothing but kind words to describe their famous father.

PERSONALITY OF ALAN JACKSON'S FATHER

Jackson is praised as a parent because he had a great role model. He grew up in rural Georgia with his father Joseph, a mechanic at the Ford Motor Company Assembly plant, and his mother Ruth, a dietician and school cafeteria manager.

Although Joseph was not the type of parent who said much or gave much advice, he taught his son to be an honorable father by leading by example.

Jackson confessed that if his parents did anything good for him and his four older sisters, it wasn't intentional because they just lived their lives and left their kids alone to make their paths.

Instead of pushing them to do something specific, Joseph and Ruth would guide their children in the right direction. Joseph even supported Jackson when nobody else did.

In December 1979, Jackson married his high school sweetheart Denise. They had plans to move to Nashville so that Jackson could pursue a career in music.

Almost everyone in his hometown (Newnan, Georgia) was convinced he had lost his mind. However, Joseph supported his decision even though he probably "hated" to see his only son go. Jackson explained:

"[Joseph] was probably worried that I was gonna get hurt, but he just told me, 'Son, you can always come back home.' And that's the kind of man he was."

ALAN JACKSON AS A FATHER

After tying the knot and moving to Nashville, Jackson and Denise waited ten years to enlarge their family. Their first daughter, Mattie, was born in June 1990; Alexandra joined the brood in August 1993; and Dani, the youngest, was born in August 1997.

Apart from being a good role model for his daughters, Jackson wants them to think he is a fun dad with a great sense of humor. He respects them and makes sure they know they can trust him to achieve that.

Jackson opened up and said that his condition, which has no cure, was becoming more obvious.

If they are dating and Jackson wants to know some details of their relationship, he would ask them directly. He joked that he was not the kind of dad who would stand on the front porch with a shotgun.

Still, he likes to be informed about his daughter's lives because he knows what he was like at their age. Jackson admitted they were good and intelligent kids who made good choices, so he trusts them and is "very proud."

ALAN JACKSON'S DISEASE

In September 2021, Jackson attracted much attention after revealing that his balance issues were related to a degenerative nerve condition called Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT).

He told "Today Show" host Jenna Bush Hager that he was diagnosed with the neuropathy and neurological disease that messed with his ability to walk in 2011.

Although CMT affects the peripheral nervous system and compromises smaller, weaker muscles in the feet, legs, hands, and arms, it doesn't alter life expectancy.

Jackson said that his condition, which has no cure, was becoming more apparent. He acknowledged he was stumbling around on stage and having issues balancing even in front of the microphone, and it made him feel "very uncomfortable."

Still, he doesn't want to step out of the spotlight yet. He's never been a fan of doing the "big retirement tour" to take a one-year hiatus and return. "That's kinda cheesy," Jackson said, adding that he would try to go on tours as much as possible.

Fortunately, he has a great support system at home. Denise said they've always tried to lift each other when needed and added they have lived a fairy-tale life.

ALAN JACKSON'S DAUGHTERS: MATTIE DENISE

Coming back to Jackson's kids, they all have successful careers. In Mattie's case, she attended the University of Tennessee and graduated in 2012.

She is currently hosting the podcast "She's in the City" and co-founded NaSHEville, an organization focused on celebrating sisterhood and giving back to orphans, widows, and trafficked women.

Sadly, Mattie has experienced some hardships in her life. Her husband, Samuel Selecman, the assistant District Attorney in Tennessee, passed away in September 2018, only one month before celebrating their first wedding anniversary.

Mattie regularly shares photos of her late husband on social media, calling him her "best friend" and marking their anniversary. She admitted Selecman would always have her heart.

She has also used her Instagram account to honor her dad. Mattie once described him as the man who "gives everything so his girls can have everything."

In a different post, she congratulated Jackson for selling 60 million records and labeled him as an "unwaveringly humble, gifted, and loving dad."

ALEXANDRA JANE

Jackson's wife has not been the only member of his family to gush over him. Alexandra, who married Sam Bradshaw in July 2018, admitted Jackson was every daughter's dream father, and while the world saw him as a great musician, songwriter, and vocalist, she saw him as her best friend. She added:

"Thank you for raising us in a house filled with Jesus and music and always making sure we knew whatever our dream was could be our reality."

DANI GRACE

Unlike her famous dad and older sisters, Dani prefers to keep the details of her life away from the spotlight. Even her Instagram account is set to private.

Jackson and Denise's relationship has not been perfect. They even parted ways in 1997 because he was unfaithful. Fortunately, they worked things out and are still happily married. What a lovely couple!
